Feels like mom's cooking even if you're not from Turkey (ok, Balkans is close enough though). This is where we come for hearty homemade meals when we've had enough of all the exotic foods Berlin has to offer. Been 3 times so far, always sits well with stomach, though this is not light food. I have no idea what they do to aubergines to make them so tasty but I am obsessed.
Home made healthy (and vegan also available) delicious authentic meals with pleasent workers. I think all in one sentence :P BTW, Don’t forget to order a free a Turkish tea!

Forget about your daily struggles and come to Mercan for a marvellous meal for a good price. This place reminds me of my childhood and my grandmother’s dishes. If I was a local in Berlin I would come here everyday for the home-cooked, healthy and the appropriately represented Turkish cuisine . The staff made me feel like home and everything was so utterly perfect that I had tears in my eyes throughout the experience.

The place serves traditional Turkish stews (like 10 different to choose) with rice and salad or tsatsiki ok the side. They always bring a big bread basket included on the price (8€) for the whole menu + drinks.

Authentic Turkish food, freshly prepared, well displayed to choose from and good portions for a fair price. There are plenty of sitting possibilities inside and outdoors. Staff is friendly, welcoming and quick in serving. The atmosphere is pleasant and international. There are vegetarian dishes and some with meat. The variety of side dishes is great. Service overall very attentive. At the end a cup of tea is offered without any additional charge. It's a good place to have lunch at and easy to find.
