Castle Hotel, Autograph Collection

I picked this place because it was the only Curio in town. Spent the time to celebrate my son who passed away in 2016. Though the staff was very accommodating, the building was not trying to let them be great. The heat was not working the entire time. Maintenance would come and “fix” the air but it lasted only a few moments after they left. All I wanted to do was be in my bubble and not leave the room but it sucked so much to be shivering in Florida! We live in South Florida so we weren’t used to that Orlando cold. If the heat was working, I’d give 10/10 but it wasn’t and that was something important for my stay. Still a very nice property. The rooms were clean and lived the decor. I’m pretty sure it was a newly acquired Marriott Curio, but still.

The Castle Hotel is gorgeous on the outside and so very cute on the inside. Nice sitting "cubbies" near the front desk that was silky and sparkly. My BFF agreed it's a cool place for a ladies weekend. The walls had pictures with paint bands to gives a feeling of risqué.
We arrived around 4:30 Dec 31, 2023. We were assigned room 607. It was cool in the room, so we increased the temperature control and headed to dinner. On return, the room was still cold, so we increased the temp to 80 and headed to the rooftop. We were a group of 3 couples so we played some games until the champagne was poured at 11:30. We did the count down to midnight and was in the perfect place to watch fireworks over Orlando. Every side was beautiful with fireworks delight. We go back to room 607... it was freezing. My husband called the desk and asked if there was a hotel wide issue as our friends rooms we very cold too. They agreed we should change rooms. Moved to 628. Room was just as cold. My husband called again and asked for extra blankets. We snuggled into a comfortable bed in a freezing room. We survived and went to the included breakfast. The sign indicates an egg option available if you ask. Most of the people I spoke to didn't realize there was more options then displayed on the sign. I had an omelet that was delicious, but I usually read the fine print. Hopefully the heat issue was a fluke. The freezing room and secret egg station behind closed door gives this hotel average of 3 stars. The lobby staff and the bar room staff were fantastic. Happy 2024 to everyone.

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, situated near all major attractions. However, the hotel itself appears a bit dated. While the beds are satisfactory, the overall cleanliness of the room leaves something to be desired; other areas don't feel as clean as expected. On the upside, the hotel does offer a laundry room for convenience. One notable feature is the opportunity to view Disney fireworks from the rooftop. It's worth noting that parking is available but not free, and there isn't any gate control for the parking lot.

This is the type of place I believe deserves the word out. The two ladies at the front desk were absolutely phenomenal. Loved the energy and the great service. The lobby is so well-themed. You'll want to stop at the bar. The bartender made me a brilliant Old Fashioned. Everything about our time there was great. We didn't get to go in the pool, but it is beautiful. There's a little hidden workout corner by the outside path. It's worth the look-at. Then there's the room. WE LOVED THIS ROOM. They had us in the tower room of the top floor. Gorgeous! I will be coming back to this place. It is now my favorite Orlando hotel.

Oh, and let's not forget them being attached to the absolute best restaurant in the entire area. Cafe Tu Tu Tango is a gastronomic experience that just makes staying at this hotel that much better. They should really think of making the tie even more official and strapping the restaurant to the hotel.

I purchased in full months in advance, Monday through Friday the week after Thanksgiving. It occurred to me that we were landing at 11:45 p.m. Monday evening, which means we would not check into The Castle until past midnight the next morning. I called the hotel to make them aware of our actual check in. I spoke to Ariel, who made it clear that if we didn't check in via the app, we would lose the room. I was astounded. As I paid for the room in full in advance, how is this even an issue? Her response, "This isn't about you. It isn't fair if you aren't in your room and other individuals require your room." I was astounded. I paid in full in advance for the room for four days checking in on Monday to avoid an issue checking in early Tuesday morning at 1:00 a.m. How is this an issue?! I was outraged. Ariel's response was that she would check us in on Monday, "Only if you guarantee you are coming in on Tuesday morning." I assured her we were. She acted as if she was doing us a favor for a room I paid for months in advance for a four day stay versus the actual three day stay. Tuesday, after I slept in the bed, I went to grab my phone to walk out to a dinner meeting and I noticed the fitted sheet was not changed prior to my arrival as there was makeup all over it, (see photo). Cherry on top of a disturbing experience with a Marriott property experience.

Amazing service experience here. They went above and beyond providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had to move rooms due to noise, and they were very accommodating. The location is extremely convenient too. Great choice in the Marriott portfolio.

I stayed the night for a class held here. The room was super clean, well stocked and the bed were comfortable. The shower was wonderful, with a wide shower head and a wand, good water pressure and hot water that lasted an hour. The hotel staff was AMAZING and very helpful in every aspect. The pool and hot tub were very clean and beautiful, even though I didn't use them. The decor is gorgeous and I wish I had more time to explore and take photos. The ONLY reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I reserved a king room but was given 2 queen beds instead. Staff did give me a partial refund for the trouble but I feel that I made a reservation for a reason
