I went in there in a great mood with my beautiful daughter excited about furniture and thrilled with what I’d found and left in a huff because of how rude and disrespectful those people were.

Multiple floor people told me I had three days to remove the pieces I bought and the manager Jesse, an actual villain, said I had to have them out by 630 that day, that they pay $20 per day to have things there. I said I don’t have a baby sitter and I can’t have my daughter in the car without a car seat, I pleaded that I only needed one more day and this dude walks away to the back with another dude who works there who I guess is his girlfriend because they could be heard giggling like school girls from the back office while listening to Katy Perry.

Then the cashier Karina is crying about her mom being dead for 10 years and 11-7 is the anniversary and I said my mom has been dead 24 years, grief is something we all deal with instead of being friendly and understanding, compassionate and advocating, you refused to tell your manager that the floor guys said I had 3 days like I didn’t even exist or my part of the story didn’t matter, why am I going to be friendly and understanding towards you if you aren’t that way towards me. Now we are off on the wrong foot to the point where our shared experience doesn’t matter to either of us.

There was no signage anywhere that said clearance pieces had to be out same day. Nothing I signed at the register when I paid for it. No refunds, nada, no flexibility. There’s nothing charitable about this place. I was prepared to let it go when one of my friends said she’d go get it and brought it back.

I can’t tell you how glad I am that I didn’t have to deal with these folks again.

Also there was a hamper there a Target one you get for less than $20 filled with loose hangers that they charged someone else $25 dollars for. The person who bought it forgot it and I said well if they don’t come back for it, can I buy it and they said yeah for $25. It’s obvious they “resell” things forfeited to drive up profits. What other reason is there to be that hard up?

Do they hire ex cons to be the managers too? Jesse had the grossest demeanor of any manager I’ve interacted with.

The best part of it all is that I was buying used children’s furniture for a toddler and it was the day after my birthday and seven days after her’s but guess what? You don’t see us crying about it.

Great furniture deals as well as windows, doors, lighting, rugs and kitchen ware. We were looking for furniture for our kids dorm and Cynthia took care of us. They will load your truck or you can call a mover they work with and have it delivered. Mostly used items but a few brand new such as vaccuums and kitchen wares.

Not as well-run as other locations I’ve been to. No rhyme or reason to the standards they use to decide if they’ll accept your furniture. E-mailed photos of nice mid-century modern furniture in decent condition with *very* small marks, and they only accepted a lamp. Was told my furniture couldn’t have any marks. Which would be reasonable, but today when I was at the store, couldn’t help but notice that numerous pieces of furniture on display had large and very noticeable stains, scratches, scuff marks, etc. Asked the clerk about it, she said the manager would be able to help me. When I asked him about it, he had an attitude, and kept saying, “It depends,” with a smirk on his face. Not sure what his problem was. Also had to ask four different employees for a donation receipt, and they kept referring me to someone else. Attached are some of the scratched pieces for sale out on the floor. The pieces I had wanted to donate were in *MUCH* better condition than these. For context, the location in Anaheim on Euclid Ave. gladly accepted all of my pieces, no problem.

This place is great! Cynthia is a gem to Habitat for Humanity and deserves a raise! I just moved to California and they had everything I needed within 1 visit. I got a couch, carpet and a coat rack for $600 all together! They have/had a 20% OFF sale going on from 11/14-11/17.

What a great place and organization! Someone is actually doing something to help the less fortunate purchase affordable housing in Los Angeles and the surrounding area. The sales of products at their ReStore locations funds their mission. A great group of people! Angy, Jose, and Jesse to name a few!

When it comes to finding home goods, furniture, and much more (such as windows and doors) - you cannot beat the prices of the RESTORE by Habitat for Humanity. I am a "frequent flyer" and absolutely love this place. The inventory is always changing and the prices are fair. Plus, you can always "suggest" a price . The people are very kind! Photos are of recent inventory pieces I looked at and some that I bought.
