This place was definitely a beautiful park. The only thing it was really hard to find the Amphitheatre, which is the main attraction although I had a really good time once I was able to find it from my friend’s instructions.

I have a confession to make. It’s been almost seven years since I last took some decent 360° panorama photos there. Why? Well, there are many reasons. First of all, parking difficulties. You know how hard it is to find a spot near the scenic places? And then you have to lug around your heavy tripod and camera equipment. Not to mention the age disorder that makes me forget where I parked in the first place. Sometimes I spend more time looking for my car than taking photos. Secondly, limited physical strength. I used to be able to walk for miles and climb mountains to get the perfect shot. Now I get winded after a few steps and need to take frequent breaks. I’m getting lazy, I admit it. But I still want to perfect the quality of my 360° panorama photos. I still have a passion for capturing the beauty of nature in all its glory. Maybe there is a place nearby that I haven’t explored yet. Maybe there is a hidden gem that awaits me. Or maybe I’m just talking now and will never get around to it. Who knows? All I know is that I need to get off this couch and do something with my life. Maybe tomorrow. Or the day after. Or next week. Or never.

I love walking here. Gorgeous paths w/ little to no hassles. Fellow walkers are always so polite when it comes to space. It is relatively quiet as well - only time you ever hear anybody else is when you are passing or they are seated at a bench. I also love reading the little signs around the paths when I take a break to sit down. Great place to clear your mind or get some exercise. Depending on where you begin and which paths you take - you can end directly at Franklin for a bite to eat or more tourism places.

Cool place with some fun history you can read about while hiking. Although I need to know what the Monarch of the Forest is. When I went there, I saw a house, that's it.
Absolutely incredible walking trails.
Very lovely in the fall after the leaves fall.
People live in the castle, please be respectful. Stone Amphitheater is amazing. Beware of dog poo

Good trails for a short casual walk near and adjoining the UNC-Chapel Hill campus
