City Barbeque

The manager at this location is so kind and helpful. Previously they had sent us home with the wrong order, we had ordered a turkey for thanksgiving, she gave us some gift cards to use for the hassle. Tonight we came in to use the gift cards and she covered the rest of our order. Just above and beyond service, polite employees. Will be back.

City Barbeque is located between Oscar Robertson Blvd and 10th St, west of Doctor MLK Jr St near the in the Ransom Place area of Indianapolis in the West Side Shoppes center, very close to the IUPUI campus.

IUPUI students: City Barbeque gives a 10% discount, just show them your Crimson card. Also, you can use your Crimson card to pay which is pretty rad.

City Barbeque has plenty of seating inside as well as outside. There's a mixture of bar height tables, lower height tables, booths, and bar seating facing the street.

They have a variety of bottled soda to chose from in addition to the standard fountain drinks.

Foodwise, there's a ton of different choices to select from. You'll have no problem finding something that you'll quickly enjoy.

There's a lot of local sports teams represented on the walls or hanging from the rafters. And, they've got a party/event room dedicated to IUPUI Jaguars, the Jag Room.

They have about 4 or 5 different sauces to add onto your food, as well as some packet sauces.

I went with the Judge's Sampler and I was NOT disappointed! Everything was so juicy and full of flavor. The judges sampler included brisket, pulled pork, 1/4 chicken, half slab, two sides, and two cornbread.

The staff was super friendly and very welcoming from the moment I walked in, during the meal, and on my way out.

I'd say it's a must stop place to eat at!

doesn't require sauce. Easy pull, tender, delicious. Both for the brisket and pork. The side beans and collard greens were good too. Noth8ng overly greasy or dry.

Friendly BBQ joint in a strip mall. The staff were amazing, just a fun bunch of kids, very helpful. I took the brisket and sausages, with a side of slaw and mac and cheese. Everything was delicious, I really enjoyed the sauce. Fat level on the brisket was optimal.
For a BBQ chain, this was excellent.

For all the City BBQs that I have been to, this is probably the best in town. It was night and day to one I went to recently. Food was definitely fresher and more tender. Staff was very friendly and they do offer a military discount. For a chain restaurant, it does pretty well. I'm sure we will be back sometime.

Where do I start! Ms. Rhonda is a complete sweetheart! Friendly and helpful! The service was fast and amazing. Brisket sandwich bussin! Mac and cheese and baked beans awesomeness! And the peach cobbler was crazy! Loved every minute of my experience!

Fantastic! Some other reviewer claimed the ribs were tough. Not sure where they ate because the ribs were amazing! Brisket was great, along with the chicken. This place isn't the reason we drove 5 hours to Indy, but it's certainly an added bonus! Highly recommend the Mother Load platter (for 6+ people).
