They did such a great job with the Pioneer campers. I worried that my daughter would be upset being one of the older campers, but she had a blast.

Check the website first. Google says it is open from 10 to 4 on Saturdays but it turns out you can only see the house by pre arranged appointments at 10:30 and noon. We found this out the hard way when we showed up at 3 and were shooed away by the park staff even though they were showing the house to another party.

It’s nice to see a historic mansion with a roof around here. I’m a little over these lazy mansions that have let themselves go - looking at you Mount Air.

Lots of history packed into this little property. This park is so clean and has parking by the entrance. The handicap parking are the first 2 spots at the beginning of the parking lot, which are the further parking spaces from the entrance where the walking path starts. Passed the walkway is a private neighborhood. Please do no park beyond the walkway. There are plenty of signs with history, and enjoyed reading them. There was no one there when I was there, and all the buildings were closed. I didn't try opening them. I just wanted to see the architect and learn a little history while I walk my dogs. This park is dog friendly!! Take some time and look around beyond the signs and buildings... The view is beautiful!!

This park is smaller than we thought it would be, but the historic grounds are maintained in excellent condition and you get a really nice view of the surrounding area from there. It's also a nice place to start out from if you're planning to walk around Huntley Meadows Park and want to get an extra thousand steps in.

Great old house on the top of a ridge with a view, a cooling breeze and a spring nearby. We were there during their Annual Discovery Day with tours, demonstrations and re-enactors. Very nice.
