It's a fun place to go rain or shine. This museum has a wonderful animal, cultural, and musical exhibit as well as a Cafe, animals nearby, and a market with hot Savory foods. It's popular so watch out for all the kiddos, they just come running every which way. I recommend the butterfly exhibit they have for some calmness if the museum is too full at the time.

Fabulous museum and gardens. Cannot believe I didn't go before and amazingly it's free.

Museum is really interesting and educational with a bit of everything. Natural history, science, fashion. Great for kids and adults. Really fun place.

There's also an aquarium which has a small £3 entrance cost for adults. Very nice too.

The gardens are magnificent, with great views over London. Also has a market on Sundays.
Great museum and gardens about 10 minutes walk from Forest Hill Railway Station. The museum, which first opened in 1901, has an excellent permanent collection covering areas including anthropology, musical instruments and natural history and has a small aquarium and a butterfly house. There is an exhibition on at the moment about tea which runs until 7 July 2024.

Well worth a visit.

First time visiting here in August. Would definitely return. Such a great museum and free too! Many gems within this museum. We particularly loved the Aquarium.
I only wish it wasn’t so far 😃 (I live on the other side of the river) or I would come here more often.
Would definitely recommend as a day trip for families.

First time here and what a fab day out it was! Free entry and only a small fee for The Butterfly House and Aquarium, both of which were great! The different museums are very interesting and lots to see. A great place to go as a couple or family and I will definitely be going back. They also do different events throughout the year which I will be trying out a few of them. Highly recommend to all.

It has been a good few years since I visited but I decided to go back to visit the Aquarium and the Butterfly House. Now, unfortunately I got down to the museum after 1 pm and spent so much time inside I'll have to do the Butterfly House as a separate visit. There is so much to see in the museum from the Aquarium, The World Gallery, The Natural History Gallery, to the Music Exhibition there is a lot to keep adults and children interested.

Lovely compact Museum, good for adults and children. The layout and grouping of animals made for a good insite into evolution. Musical instrument Museum was interesting. Nice cafe. Free mainly, with small cost for aquarium etc.
