This place is amazing! The exhibit is top notch. Very educational and can be experienced in less than an hour. Totally worth the drive to the very adorable town of Hohenwald.

I've never been but frankly it's not necessary. I will continue to donate as soon as I'm in a position to do so. The joy it gives me to know how cared for and loved these (once tormented) elephants are, is indescribable. You are all heroes and I'm SO grateful that this exists and for each and every one of you who truly adore these elephants and give them the retirement they not only deserve, but have EARNED. This is the least we can do after all they've been through. I beg everyone to keep supporting legitimate sanctuaries such as this one. Thank you♥️

Actually visiting the elephants is not allowed, which is understandable when you learn their history. However, the learning center is very fascinating and the docents are very knowledgeable.

I have not had the opportunity of visiting the sanctuary but once I discovered their website I became anxious to adopt one of the elephants for my grandson’s birthday!
Of course it was a weekend and I was t able to connect with a staff member but left a message which was promptly returned on Monday morning! I received a photo of the elephant I selected along with a Certificate of Adoption and a bio. I can assure you he was most proud to be the only kid who has his own elephant!! What a cool idea and the donation is for a very worthy cause. His mom is framing the photo and hanging in his room. Now all I have to do for his future birthdays is make an annual donation to “his elephant”❣️

Y’all this place takes their work seriously. Attended the USPS Elephant Forever stamp first day release today! The center is bare of fancy furnishings, and perfectly in tune with focus on the Elephants and protecting their Sanctuary. Friendly people! This place is something to see for sure!!

I also wish we could tour the sanctuary but I guess I understand maybe the reasons it's not open to the public. The interpretation Center was well worth the visit although they were closed. But still they get five stars! The Lewis and Clark Cafe is a good eatery while you're here.
