Résidence Le Pont du Gard - Vacancéole

We had booked a room apparently for 6 people, but it's definitely not more than for 4 (2 bedrooms for 4 people, and for the 5th & 6th, you would have to move the tables and chairs to fold out the sofa to sleep on).

Cleanliness left a lot to be desired - kitchen sink and taps had water stains, sofa fabric was dirty, stains on the bedroom furniture. Front door was also stained and dirty.

Nothing was provided - no handwash/shower gels or kitchen napkins, nor was there a coffee machine (we had to ask for it at the reception to get one).

Pros - a nice large balcony with a decent view of trees and shrubs, a nice and quiet location on the main road at a walking distance from the Pont du Gard, and lots of parking space.

The staff are friendly and available to assist if need be. The swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and hammam are classy. It is a place to be if you ever find yourself in Resmoulins and it's less than 15 mins walk to Pont du Gard.

This place is not well maintained. There’s a mould in the shower, the bedsheets were dirty, one of the bathroom lights weren’t functioning and while having breakfast we experienced electricity outage. Our room was unlocked at arrival which exposes jt to vandalism. This hotel charges extra if you don’t make your own bed or if you don’t clean the place before you leave. Also the reception opening hours are incorrect as it was closed when it says it should be open. The only plus is flexible self check-in (if you ask for it). I would avoid this place in the future.

First time in my life that I left a hotel before the end of my stay. Paid 140€ a night for a tiny room with no comfort, smelly bathroom, noisy air conditioning. This facility makes literally no effort for the comfort of its guests. A prison cell in northern Europe offers more comfort. Certainly not worth more than 50€ a night. Hotel declined to reimburse the second night, not even the local taxes or the supplement for the dog were paid back. Avoid this place!

We booked this hotel for a last-minute trip (two nights). As we are travelling with our dog, the hotel options was limited. The reviews on hotels.com was not great, but acceptable. After reading the recent reviews on Google our expectations were not very high. As it turns out, neither should yours.
The structure of the building gives me horror-movie vibes and it feels outdated. To get in to our "double room", you first have to enter a little hall (in lack of a better word, it is a room of about 1sqm) shared with the neighbours. The hall door opens inwards, with our room door behind it. Thus you have to stand pressed against the neighbours door in order to close the first door and reach the door to our room. Actually, this room for two persons should rather be listed as a shoebox, it is that tiny. The dog (20 kg) can barely turn around between the walls and the bed. There is one window in the room and it is facing the corridor, impossible to have it open!
There is a faul smell in the bathroom. The cleaning is not top-notch, yet better than expected after reading the Google reviews.
We immediately decided to book a new hotel for our second night, even though we couldn't get any money back.
The hotel is at a great location and it is very calm.

Was completely discussed when we arrived. There was a lot of issues with our room:
1. Room was not cleaned very well (dirt and hair in corners, under/behind curtains & underwear from previous people found under sofa)
2. dishes in dishwasher stunk and many items that was not cleaned due to hard food stuck to dishes.
3.beds were made but dirty on top of linen and stains on sheets (questionable if linen was changed)
4.fridge was nasty and had a foul smell
5.microwave had food rest all over inside (never cleaned)
6. bathroom was nasty, spots on walls and countertops and bath tub/sink not cleaned well (soap and other residue found)
7. Appliances in kitchen dirty (recommend bringing your own)
8. Kitchen cabinets and counters had layers of dust and food left in and on them.
9. Main door does not shut properly ( more than a 1/4 inch gap & difficult to lock)
10. Toilet was nasty ( pee marks left under the lid and hair) yuck 🤮
11. The floor above the apartment you can hear every movement.
12. Do not recommend paying for cleaning, it seems they do not do it.

13. Furniture had cigarette or spark burn marks on them, stained and dirty.
14. Dresser,closets and cabinets not cleaned out dirt in drawers, shelves and on the floor of these areas.
15. Check in times are in convenient. We drove 11 hours and still have to wait 1.5 hours to get our room.
16.was disappointed in the pool hours opens at 10am and closes at 7 pm. For an apartment complex with more than 200 rooms and people. Pool could open longer.

18. for the apartment complex there is 4 pay to use washing machines SHOULD NOT BE LISTED ON SITE AS AVAILABLE IF IT COST EXTRA or make a seperate section of the additional items that cost money.

At 15:00 on day 2 a meeting with manager is planned to figure out how to solve the issues. Considering we had to clean and remake bed before we could even come into apartment. This was all after 11 hour drive to get here and 2 additional hours waiting. Was able to first relax around 18:00 and take daughter to pool only for 45min. AT THIS POINT I WOULD NOT ROCOMMEND STAYING AT THIS APARTMENT!

Hmm...too many! Not at all as we have expected. The pictures taken by the owners are too beautiful and do not respect the reality. I will start by complaining about the lack of compassion and understanding of the management. We had payed in advance for a 2 rooms apartment, but unfortunately my grandmother got very sick 2 weeks before our arrival, so my parents were forced to stay home and take care of her while she was in hospital. I kindly asked them to show some support and agree to 1 room apartment instead - the one with 2 rooms was for 5 persons and so was the quotation. They were not at all impressed and had not accepted the change. This was a first bad impression! The apartment was very dirty, like nobody from the hotel cleaned it! The floors were dirty, the frames of the windows were extremely dirty, the towels - both for bathrooms and kitchen - were dirty, the kitchen was dirty - there was a pan left without being washed -, there were spider nets everywhere, the exterior walls of the hotel were dirty and left without painting, the exterior lights of the hotel were working from times to times. Second day of our arrival, we complained about these cleanliness problems and asked for solving, at least, some of the issues. We were promised that by the end of the day, when we would return at the hotel, everything would be worked out. The guarantee was the presence of the owner, a lady, who went along with her team to see the problems mentioned and to take care of them. Not a pleasant surprise when we came back and see that NOTHING was changed! Just like we had never had the discussion with the management in the morning! On Tuesday, AGAIN, we asked for cleaning the apartment. Same answer! Or better say, NO answer! Just a promise they would take care of the problem! A joke! No one came and nothing was solved! At checked our, we were asked how did we enjoyed our stay and if the hotel met our expectation! FUNNY! Or not?!...
