Nice place to visit with kids. Lots of fun , boat simulation game and cannon show was awesome. Kids enjoyed lot. You can finish in 2-3 hours.
Quite a good surprise, specially if you have kids! They can visit the ships and get to know a bit of the history of this part of the Netherlands
I really didn't expect it, but this was quite a nice museum. We enjoyed the part with the history of Flevoland and the archeology lab. The historical shipyard was also fun, but not everything was open, probably because we visited on a weekday. I would love to come back on a weekend and see all the little workshops.
Three different experiences for one price: museum with a lot of history, warf that shows lots of crafts with live demos, old ship that can be fully explored. We spent about four hours in total and it was a great way to make good use of a rainy day.
My only deduction is that the museum did not show a lot of actual details on how they completed with the water and fought it back to create land. That's what I was most curious about.

Very nice replica, piece of history, many rooms, few floors. I recommend!
Combination of a museum - dedicated to the history of Flevoland in general and Lelystad in particular and a wharf - dedicated to the art and craft of wooden ship building.
A visit inside the life-size replica of the famed Batavia ship is the highlight. Museum cards are accepted, or else ticketed entry is possible.

A beautiful place worth visiting and buying tickets in order to see the ship from the inside. It is very beautiful and contains a lot of details and explanation, the workers there are very friendly and nice, you will be happy after this visit and take pictures.
