Spasskaya Bashnya or Spasskay Tower in Moscow
Visited on 5/10/2019

Spasskaya Bashnya is translated as 'Saviour Tower', is the main tower on the eastern wall of the Moscow Kremlin which overlooks Red Square. It is a ten-storey high clock tower, with a star on top of the tower, bringing total height to 71 metres.

The clock on the Spasskaya Tower is usually referred to as the Kremlin chimes.

The tower gate was once the main entrance into the Kremlin. The gate of Spasskaya Tower was used to greet foreign dignitaries.

Legend has it that the tower was possessed with miraculous powers and was reputed to protect the Kremlin from enemy invasion.

Huge bell tower made up of red color bricks. It is a part of Kremlin Palace Walls facing to Red Square and St. Basil Cathedral. Clocks on the tower are huge and tower itself is amazing.
