I cannot express the disappointment that I have in writing this review- I have eaten at dozens of Michelin rated restaurants and I cannot understand how this has attained a star based on the degustation we had here in October.

It’s a great privilege to eat at such a highly rated establishment, and I fully appreciate the work that goes into a chefs preparation - however I do not think that he tasted the food he was serving. My husband described many of the courses as bland mush, and I can’t come up with a better description.

The amuse bouche was best described as boring, and it was frankly the best service of the meal… including the Wagyu steak supplement we had. The desert was inedible and we had already sent so much back uneaten, I was embarrassed. The insult to injury was the price which, when converted, came to nearly $1000 Aussie, including one of the least expensive wines on the list. I was very glad I didn’t order the bottle we had originally planned.

The restaurant was empty, and it was a Friday night in Paris… for a Michelin restaurant, that says a lot. Nakatani sadly won’t be keeping their star with that menu.

We caught up with our son and his wife from Brisbane while we were visiting Paris and enjoyed a sumptuous luncheon in this boutique restaurant. It is off the beaten track and is small with 5 tables only. The food (a fixed menu) was delicately prepared and presented with a series of appetisers built around an entree of fish and a mains of pork medallions, followed by dessert and petit fours with coffee

The service was high class and efficient and our server explained each course which were presented as pieces or art. The wine list was extensive

It was French cuisine in a very unique setting of the highest standard. While not cheap it will be a memory we will share with our son and daughter in law for years to come.

incredible dessert, great ambiance, very kind server. main course left something to be desired flavor-wise in comparison to the rest of the dishes, but we left satisfied.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Nakatani. The 6 course meal was unique, delicious, and memorable.

The dining room is simple yet refined and intimate. We had a large party of 8 but the chef and server were very accommodating.

From course to course the dishes were beautifully prepared and the flavors exceeded our expectations.

Came here for lunch, which was a delightful experience. All the courses were beautifully prepared and very tasty. The restaurant can be easy to miss when passing on the street, but definitely a must visit if you get the chance. Highly recommend

A very French Japanese chef

Amongst the Japanese chef with a star that we have in Paris, he is one more of the French side. And yet, the name he decided to put on his restaurant could not be more Japanese (it’s his name). That’s interesting because the competition (and there’s a lot of Japanese with a star) are using French name with a more exotic cuisine.
So it’s French cuisine with a perfect execution and some personal notes from the chef (very elegant, so little touches, etc..). You ll have a great meal. Also I do appreciate when the chef makes an effort to say goodbye (or come to the tables etc…) it’s a nice touch and not everyone does that.
Great for couples. Possible for business lunch and friends.
Well deserved star.
You’ll have an experience.
The mood: I’ll go for a discreet but classy style (Paul Neuman). It’s ok to wear a costume but you don’t have to. Personally I do enjoy, so I d wear a “casual” one.

Edit: I went back after a year. I recommend to try the Wagyu as only few have it. It is definitely a well deserved star. I thought it was more in between France and Japan this time. Especially with the “terre/mer” with foie gras. Note that it has only 4 tables.
