This is a well known airport. It is located near Devanahalli, Bengaluru. This airport is quite far from the city. Usually cabs charge about 1500-3000 on normal days and sometimes it even goes up to 7k to 10k based on the rush and unavailability of other modes of transportation. At these times, it is better to share the cab with fellow passengers to save some money. The cheapest way to reach this airport from the city is via BMTC airport busses. They charge about 265 from city.
Good and nice bus stop. It's like 40-50 km odd from the main city and hence the bus is the cheapest mode of travel from Bangalore City.
You will get busses to and fro to different parts of the city, literally everywhere. Cost wise it's very economical compared to other means of transport .
Nearby there is Starbucks and all and hence u will not face any issues with food. And yes the cost of things here is a bit more as it's on the outskirts but makes for the same.

There are lot of options outside the airport to have food, drinks, buy toys etc.

Its large airport 40 k.m outskirt from the city, for cab you have to exist from airport and there is a ola cab centre, you have to stand on queue and wait for your turn, no need to pre book ola or uber.
One of the best and large airports of India. One of the busiest airports too. Given that the cleanliness is excellent. Great maintenence by the staff. The restrooms are good and free of pan stains. Lot of sitting area and very comfortable lounge style chairs. Love this airport and all the shops there
