Worst baggage handling I’ve ever encountered. Auckland airport is such a large airport, with 3 flights coming in from the Australian east coast, you’d think the bags would come off the carousel one after the other. Our flight QF125 landed at 12.20am, and we didn’t receive our bags till 1.45am. Making passengers wait for over an hour with minimum announcements or updates is bad form. You know it’s bad when people behind the baggage counter disappear and passengers are yelling through the hole/slot in the wall where the bags appear from. What’s worse was when all the priority and business class bags came out last. It was like they went on a midnight smoko and forgot how to offload a plane….!

Turn up, the people will find your bag: if possible.

While this Co is difficult to get on the phone, they are fabulous when you just show up. I called many times without any answer so just decided to go. In person, they found my bag quickly & I was on my way. Thanks Menzies!

I too suffered at the hands of Menzies. Initially the man that took my details was lovely and told me that 7 other people on my flight had also had their bags left in Doha. He told me he would be in contact within the next few days. Needless to say I did not hear from anyone! It was only through a lovely lady at the Airnz baggage claim office next door to Menzies that I was able to find out my bag had been delivered to Wellington where I live but the Airnz staff in Wellington had no delivery information for me, which I had provided to Menzies. So I have contacted Qatar airways who I flew with and told them of the terrible service from Menzies and how Menzies are not making Qatar or any of the airlines they service look good. As Menzies doesn’t seem to care about customer service, hopefully Qatar airways will care about how this company is making them look.

021 479 821 -> that’s the number to success. I had to call this number 8 times in a row but after that it all sorgtet out within 5 minutes
The worst company in the world!!! How the service was? There just was no service. Nobody picked up the phone or answer any emails… for weeks. I understand that they have heaps of work to do and it might be annoying to deal with all the desperate tourists looking for their baggage, but such an ignorance is just not appropriate for the biggest airport in the country.
Well our journey was long, hard and annoying. Probably as annoying as their job in the office… if there were 0 stars I would have given 0 stars, but since I finally got my baggage I think 1 star is almost appropriate. There needs to be a change! This bad service can’t go on like that…

It seems many people have problems with this worldwide conglomerate yet our Minister of Tourism seems uninformed about the issues and the way its performance reflects on our large tourism industry. I had to deal with their frontline people at Auckland Airport today. I guess people who take your baggage have large numbers to deal with and its probably boring work but courtesy, understanding, empathy for customers of the airlines they are representing does not appear to be a priority. Dismissive, offhand, unhelpful staff and supposed supervisor seem to be standard for this business. Save one young woman, Alexandra, who did go the extra distance to help my wife. Pity there are not others like her.

(Menzies Auckland airport) Truly an amazing experience.
My bag arrived perfectly on time, for my flight home 1 month after I arrived.
Their customer service is fantastic not a single employee was rude to me, as not a single employee ever picked up the phone with my 60 odd calls.
The in-business coordination is is incredible, they have the exact same phone number (Christchurch Menzies for Auckland) as everyone else, that no one ever picks up.
I really find it unsurprising that their services have made national news! For losing record number of bags and getting bags to no-one!
Thanks Menzies I will really enjoy having the stuff I packed for holidays at home to unpack without having used it.
(At least I got my bag back)
