We were in this place on 1st of January.

The place to be for big celebrations. New year countdown and Chinese new year performances are usually held here.
There is lovely huge lake nearby which is very tranquil during summer.
Beware that there will be huge crowds whenever there are celebrations and that is one of the rare moments where Finns do not mind being packed together shoulder to shoulder.
Fireworks are released near the lake after big celebrations too so don't forget to head there after the performances end.
The amazing and famous Helsinki library, Oodi, is just a few steps away but it will usually be closed by the time the performance ends.
2024 Countdown party was held here and the countdown from Käärijä while performing Cha Cha Cha with the pyrotechnics happening in the background is just soooo epic and memorable.

Perfect spot to pass the time away while munching on your sandwich or just simply sit on the grass and soak in the Helsinki vibe. It's an easy walk from the Central Station and from all bus stops in the downtown core. This is not a quiet park if you want some peace because the atmostphere here is very festive. So come out and join the fun!!!

It's a square geographically in the heart of Helsinki. People can do leisure promenade at anytime there. Also some big events also held here, such as new year firework show. In its surroundings are some major landmark buildings such as parliament House, city library, Finlandia talo, national museum and modern art museum.
