DO NOT USE. I can't emphasize this strongly enough: this accounting service is led by a criminally fraudulent individual who is currently being looked at by the IRS and the Better Business Bureau (he now has multiple complaints against him with BBB - feel free to google). I have written proof from the IRS that he fabricated a document that alleged my returns were submitted electronically to the IRS. The IRS has expressly confirmed that he never sent them electronically. Save yourself a nightmare, read the rest of the comments, and then use a real CPA. Hopefully Jonathan Ernest is in jail soon

This guy is a complete joke. Our tax return he filed got rejected, the IRS told me they emailed him back within 72 hours to tell him, and he never told us. What's worse, we emailed him about eight times to ask about the status of our return months later, and he never responded to us. He's now missed two appointments and completely ghosted us. This is not an actual professional, and if I could give zero stars, I would.

UPDATE: Jon has responded here saying "we did resolve his issue." No, you didn't. I have had to pay a different accountant to re-file my taxes and he just called me listing off about 15 things you filed incorrectly on the return. Mistakes happen, I get that. But your complete lack of honesty and professionalism is horrible.

As an active duty military family, we are always on the move, which can cause turmoil for our tax situation. Additionally, we had several problems with the IRS that John helped us solve.

They helped correct a mistake made by the IRS on my 2020 tax return. The Social Security Office had sent my wife's social security number to the wrong person. Additionally, USCIS spelled my wife's name wrong in two different places and in two different ways on her green card causing additional confusion. Ultimately we missed out on his full tax reimbursement due to the IRS not willing to provide assistance. However, this firm stepped in to correct the mistake.

Not only did they amend the tax return correctly, but they also filed a formal argument against the IRS, which ultimately resulted in the appropriate amount being refunded as well as IRS's apology. Their attention to detail and expertise in tax law were evident throughout the entire process.

I am extremely impressed with this accounting firm's professionalism, expertise, and dedication to their clients. If you are in need of accounting services, I recommend this firm.

Incorrectly filed my 2021 taxes and was audited by the IRS for miscalculation of taxes. Jonathan Ernest completely stopped answering my emails and didn't provide an explanation of the miscalculation. Stay away this provider is a scam!

Blatant lack of transparency, delays in communication, no follow up forcing us to continuously reach out to get a simple response and all around not a good customer service. We asked for some sort of dated confirmation (or receipt) that our taxes were e-filed since all we were told at that time (April) was “Ok, thank you, and never received a response to our question. We were told the IRS doesn’t provide receipts but what accounting service has no record of the day they filed for a client? Still, to this day, we don’t know what date our taxes were filed. Absolutely not what you expect when you hire an accountant.

Highly responsive, professional and reassuring. Very fair rate to file my 2020 taxes, including a couple of complicating elements and a lot of questions from myself. All of their answers were clear and straightforward, and they didn't try to sell me any additional services/consultations that I didn't need. Would recommend to anyone!

John at American Accounting is 💯 professional business man that went out of his way to take special care of my situation! Courteous and understanding! They did three years of my taxes for a very reasonable fee and they offered a payment plan to make it easier! I didn’t even have to ask! A great company but more so, great people!
