Toronto Peace Garden at Nathan Philip Square

Cool tribute to past speakers and a place of peace.

The park has a flame and a history of dignitaries being in the place. There is also some greenery and flowers in the area. There is some stadium style seating to reflect and relax. The space is sort of hidden between Nathan Philips Square and Osgoode Hall. The park area is mobility accessible.

Not maintained. It's become a rat infestation, and they are almost as the big as the pigeons.

Nice gardens

Toronto Peace Garden was dedicated to Hiroshima survivors. Peace Garden was conceived in response to the Art Eggleton administration's 1983 declaration of Toronto as a "nuclear-free zone". The Peace Garden was completed the following year, with its Flame of Peace lit by Pope John Paul II in September 1984, and an official opening attended by Queen Elizabeth II a few weeks after. After more then 30 years this garden with memorial flame was relocated from one side of Nathan Philip Square to the other and got new modern look.
