Great trails and rock climbing areas.

Really nice hiking trail. I don’t recommend for the casual biker though, did that once and regretted it! Several different paths and most trails are big enough for 2 people to walk side by side. Get there before noon before it gets busy so you can find street parking!

A trailhead into Violet Crown. It's very manicured and maintained, which makes it great for walks, and running not just hiking or mountain biking.
This trailhead is VERY close to the rock climbing locations too.

The trailhead is right across from Thom’s market and Tacodeli! Such a great walk in nature. I absolutely hate seeing trash here! Why do people do that! Creek is dried up right now but I’m sure it will be back in summer

Love this trailhead! Easy and convenient parking along the street, and great access to the Violet Crown trail.

Trailhead is directly across the street from a Tacodeli. There is no parking lot for the trail but there is ample street parking.
I took the trail north to Barton Springs Pool. It is about a mile hike from the trailhead to the pool. Once nice thing was that it was about 80-90% in the shade for that mile. Nice in the summertime.
The trail is mostly flat, just a little bit of elevation. The most difficult part of the hike is actually the groomed walkway from the road down to the main trail. I didn’t notice it walking down to the trail but on the way back I realized that it was maybe 150 yards uphill.
Trail is a bit rocky in places. Not difficult really but could twist an ankle if you are not paying attention.

Considering the recent renovations at this trailhead, I’m really disappointed they didn’t add any facilities. There are no water fountains or restrooms - which is a pain after a long day hiking (especially in the summer). As someone who works at a nearby business, it’s annoying to have the public depend on using our single toilet before/after their time on the green belt. Do better, Austin!
