Asuka Japanese Cuisine

this is one of my favourite places to eat just because of the nostalgia. it just gives me great feelings whenever i go, and it’s always super yummy. staff are so kind and helpful as well, and very attentive.

I generally have many good experiences here. The food is great, not too much rice on your rolls (which is a bonus). My husband and I have been coming here since we moved to St Thomas and haven't been disappointed yet.

Only thing I'd like to see is better lighting and more servers when it's busy and maybe more selection for those who aren't really fish eaters.

But all and all. A great place.

I have been here twice, I must say that the place is okay but the interior design is kinda old. When we entered the room we can smell cigarette smoke which is a no no for someone who does not like or is allergic to smoke. Food tastes good but not so superb. Overall it was good.

One of our favorite places to eat.
-The rolls are a good size
- Wish they provided a description of what is in the rolls (not a fan of their spicy mayo sauce that goes on top of some, too much mayo flavor)
-The breaded deep fried items are light and tasty
- We try to visit when they wouldn't be busy because typically they do not have a lot of staff
- Price is great!
- Lots to choose from even non sushi items
-Interior could use an update

Four of us attended around 5pm on a Saturday. The first red flag ought to have been the single guy making sushi behind the counter. They were quick to bring out a few fried foods, but after an hour we had to ask where our food was because we had a show to get to. In the span of about 5 minutes they had sushi rolls at our table. The rolls were decent, and the sashimi (salmon and butterfish) were both fresh enough. The service, when delivered, was brought with the opposite of a smile with no knowledge of the food that was being delivered. It could have been sesame chicken we ate, but no one will ever know. After initial beverage delivery no additional beverages were offered or received until asking at approximately the 1hr10min mark.

We went because the reviews said 4.5 stars so maybe we got them on an exceptionally bad knight, or maybe I’m just asuka.

I tried the all you can eat menu. The portions are understandably small (you get try a bigger variety), but everything was lukewarm. The soup was not hot. The prices are average (~36 for dinner). It is alright, but not the best.

Very nice experience here with my husband. They followed covid protocols well and the restaurant was kept clean. The servers here were great - they were attentive, nice, made sure the table was cleared and drinks were refilled. Food came at a good pace and we didn't have a dish we didn't like. Nice dinner menu items for the most part, would be nice if they had a few salad options. Their rolls and sashimi were good(the tuna cuts were excellent) the food from the kitchen came out on the cold side, and they forgot a couple dishes, which wasn't a problem as we let her know and she brought them out for us.
