When I attended GCHS it was only the second year the school had been open so it looked awesome and brand new. Unlike some of the less fortunate schools in Collier County. In case you couldn't tell that was definitely a jab towards the other schools. I was class of 2004. The school was built using an unusually high amount of money, which stirred speculation around the state in fact there is only one other school in Florida that used the same building plan. After the second building was built the plans were never used again for financial matters. When the school opened the school zones changed so we were all a population of kids from different high schools interacting for the first time. It went well and we had a large amount of school pride. Our colors were silver, teal, and black. Ugh I have the pride song stuck in my head. Overall I'd say my experience at high school was just like everyone else except mine was at a brand new school. GO SHARKS!!

We have two daughters at GCHS and we LOVE it!! One is in MC3 (ESE) and the other is a junior taking AP/AICE classes. The ESE staff is exceptional!! Mrs. Broccoletti & Mrs. Merrill are simply the BEST!

This school likes to pepper spray crowds of innocent students, happened multiple times over the years. Also they do not allow food from outside restaurants, such as Subway, in lunch boxes. They say it’s competition against school food. Oh and their band teacher was a pedophile, Robert Hamberg

The school looks good, but the only problem is that the school is kind of close to the road and I'm worried about my kids running onto there and getting hit. If the road gets moved, I will give this school 5 stars.

I read a review stating that the children were from millionaire families. That is not true. All three of my children attended Gulf Coast High School starting in 2004 to present. We are a middle income family. You get out of it what you put into it. There are diverse groups of kids. The band is amazing. They offer a large array of classes. AP, AICE, honors, regular and remedial classes. There are focuses in culinary, medical, engineering and sports acedamy.

The students are the privileged children of millionaires who drive $50,000 cars to school. And that's where the problem starts, because the children of "middle class, or working class" parents are basically considered rodents that must be exterminated. My group of friends, were constantly harassed by the officers on campus, simply because we were not the "standard" rich little white kids. The first day of school, within a few hours of stepping foot on the school grounds the police officers assured me and my friends that we would not be there for long. And they were true to their promise to find a way to exterminate us from participation in an education. However, I Thank them from the bottom of my heart because thanks to their hate I was able to get a good footing in life early. I bet I got more on my taxes this year than any of those teachers who told me "you will never be anything" but not with concern, but with a evil grin. Thank you all.
