My mother in law is resting here. When she passed she left no money and had no funeral plans. The Hebrew Free Burial Society took care of everything in exchange for a very reasonable donation from us. The donation was less than a quarter of what a private funeral would have set us back. The service was basic but kosher and a minyan was provided for a modest fee.
Overall the Society provides a valuable service to the Jewish community and the donations they require are tailored to the means of the families. Those that complain are insufferable tightwads.

My grandmother’s sister died on 3-25-1911 in the Triangle Fire. Many of the Jewish women who died were buried here by the Hebrew Free Burial Society We are very grateful for the care they receive.

Not quite sure why people are bashing the workers. I’ve had nothing but good experiences when coming here to visit my great grandparents. Of course they’re all About money. They’re a “free” burial society. My GGP were poor immigrants who had no money to get buried. This association not only paid for both their funerals, but someone also donated money to have headstones placed. I will pay it forward.

Worsted place. They demand money for nothing. For example they demand $800 for rabby who will be supervise workers during monument's job (workers only add words on monument). I was there, but rabby, who take money not.
The same situation is on every step

HORRIBLE people, just horrible. I've got several family members here, for years. For years, I have had nothing but problems with the inefficiency, lies, horrible service, every single staff member is horrible and RUDE, they are constantly blaming other companies for their problems. If you can avoid this cemetery, please do. Save yourselves the headache and heartache.
The problems became so much worse after a transfer in leadership several years ago.. the new rabbi is abysmal. Just awful. The rules of the cemetery are so unfriendly. It's almost as if they don't want any more new clients. Honestly, this place should be investigated, along with every single person who works there.

This is not free. They are partners with a funeral home that will force payment or tell you to take a hike. The staff is unprofessional and of course very very concerned about the money. The grounds are not kept up either. The rabbi was the only nice person in the whole experience
