R Public House

This place is welcoming. The whole waitstaff is smiling and having fun. I definitely recommend the pizza. It’s got that perfect crispy crust. Will be back to try their banana old fashioned for dessert.

I found this place years ago when I lived in Park Ridge. I'd read about their all you can eat Moules and Frites. They did not disappoint! We went once a month. As all good things come to an end so did the all-you-could-eat!

BUT that opened us up to trying all their other delicious food.

I moved to Evanston eight years ago and I'm a 5 minute drive/10 minute bike ride to R Public House. Their outdoor seating is awesome. The bar inside is iconic.

Try all their food. Attend their events - I'm a fan of the cider fests they host.

Burger of the day which was gargonzola and mushroom with bacon was amazing. The cheese curds were also quite good, buuttt my seasoned garlic parm fries were extremely bland....oh well. And guys....you gotta offer onion rings as a side not just specifically with 1 burger.

Always love dining at this neighborhood gem. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is welcoming. The current fall sangria special is particularly tasty!

Update: Recently dined indoors. Since we were disappointed with other food items in the past, we ordered burgers as a safe bet. Had to ask for condiments as they provided none for either burger plate. Hostess/server was unfriendly. Disappointed! Good burgers... but that's the only reliably good food. Service is spotty, depending on the waitstaff. Love the outside seating area.

I loved the Beyond(R) Chicken & Waffles! The taste combination is outstanding, and the chicken tenders in it really were like eating real chicken meat. Yum. I was especially glad to see Seven vegetarian entrees on the brunch menu! We sat outside on the patio on a lovely afternoon and watched the carnival event beside us. There’s usually a family-friendly event happening on the weekend. Chad was our waiter today and he is always so attentive. Much thanks to him and the R Public House establishment. The Shrimp and grits is a favorite brunch meal of my husband. Their Bloody Mary is my favorite in the city! We will definitely return.

Bottomless mimosas for $15 was my favorite of course, but the food was great too! I got the chicken and waffles & will definitely go back for them again soon. The dish has fried chicken thigh in between huge pieces of cheddar bacon waffles, all covered in sausage gravy. So good! Definitely recommend going for brunch, awesome atmosphere as well.
