Social workers work hard to help you but that's all I can say

Plus owners response whenever someone complains is either that it never happened or the person wasn't there.
Take a look at my original review in my photos which will tell you all you need to know.
Yes I am a real person and do not appreciate when genuine feed back does not get taken seriously by the owner.

There is no point in me making an official complaint as my grandmother is no longer alive and as my photo says, we managed to move her.
I also do not wish to phone them since they didn't listen when she was alive, I doubt they will listen to the same things again now.

I merely would like the owners to take note of the feedback left by everyone genuine and to use it productively for service improvements.
It is to help so that no one else in the future has to experience what we went through.
Hope this helps.

I have visited Lyndhurst Care Home in the past and found the staff to be very friendly and compassionate. The home has a really cosy feel and residents looked happy.

If you care for your loved one - AVOID this home!!

The owner makes up his own rules!

I called to arrange an appointment for the following evening at 7pm. A friendly member of staff booked the appointment with no issues, and advised what my family member required.

I rearranged a couple of meetings in work prior to the appointment to ensure I wouldn’t be late. I gave the home a courtesy call this evening to let them know I would be on time, but was told I had been denied access by the Manager Kavish.

I asked for more information as to why? I was informed that the Manager had cancelled it with no explanation?!
I asked for the Managers contact details but they were not allowed to give me his mobile number. I gave them mine and asked could he please call me.

I made various calls to the home to make another appointment because I was suspicious. I was advised all appointments now had to be arranged by the Manager.

However, the Manager hasn’t/won’t respond to my calls and complaint form, and I cannot contact him directly. I’ve asked for more information in writing which has also been ignored.

I had no option but to call the Police to ask for them to do a welfare check. I’ve also raised my concern with Social Services because this is unacceptable and very suspicious behaviour from the Manager.

This has caused me unnecessary stress and anxiety.
I have exhausted every avenue to try and contact the Manager and MD of Lyndhurst.

I have had to raise a formal complaint with the Social Worker as I feel my family member is at risk of isolation, she does not have the basics (even though she’s meant to receive a weekly allowance of £25) and I’m concerned the home is under staffed, and one of the main reasons I was denied access!

16/12/21 It has taken the owner over two months to respond to my review.
Please go on line and read the recent CQC report. The safety aspect of the reports has been ‘requires improvement’ since 2009. This proves the Managers response is fictitious and hypocritical.

I am in the Construction Industry and have a duty of care to report breaches of basic Health & Safety - especially when there are vulnerable people living inside an unsafe building.

I was finally able to visit my Great Aunt thanks to the help of the Social Worker and liaising with the CQC. I have attached pictures to prove my review is factual.

I was taken around the back of the home (without signing in) through gates which were locked with a chain and padlock. I had to avoid a door on the floor, damaged manhole lids, bricks and other trip hazards. The overall building is in disrepair externally and internally.

My Great Aunt was brought into a small room at the back of the home (please refer to the pic of the bowl of porridge) and decide for yourself if the sharp/ chipped bowl is acceptable for a fragile lady with dementia.

I discussed her dietary requirements with the Senior member of staff. I was advised she has the following snacks ‘toast, toast with jam and biscuits’.
Several members of staff were unaware that my Great Aunt is diabetic. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon in this home and was investigated by the CQC.

The only positive to this home is the ‘majority’ of the staff do genuinely care for the residents, however, they are poorly managed.

Time is a precious commodity.
It is a shame Mr Mahadeo you are wasting your time responding to old reviews - instead of addressing fundamental safety issues which still require improvement.

The last time I visited the Lyndhurst Residential Care Home, the staff was very polite, caring and paid attention to details. The place was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend the care home.
