Stopped in for a pint to watch a few football games. Great atmosphere. Arrived once with no booking for Liverpool Arsenal… wouldn’t recommend doing that for a big match but our server found a spot for us and attended to everything we needed. Returned a few times during the week and it was always fantastic

We had a Christmas do here and it was actually great. The food was really excellent and well presented and the service was perfect. Brilliant wine too. Definitely not your average London pub experience. Recommended

Server was brilliant once we organised our booked table. Loved the food. Fish and chips in particular were fabulous so was the pie. Would have stayed longer but tired from travelling. Enjoyed the football too. Thanks team.

Very good pub fish and chips, roast beef lovely, not enough veg with the roast (seems to be a trend nowadays), £5 for 4 small pieces of sourdough bread (complete rip off), under cooked pigs in blankets. Stop people bringing dogs to restaurants!! humans are trying to eat!! Would return.

Cozy and authentic pub in a great area. Probably the best fish&chips in any pub in the vicinity. Good prices, great flair and ambience.
Very good table service!
Edit: the fish&chips rating wasn't a fluke, it's consistently great, just had it again. Also there's table service, seems like the last time we visited there wasn't enough staff. Upgraded rating.

A warm and cozy pub in South Kensington. Located in a quiet street. Food is delicious with decent decoration. I enjoyed my time over here. Would be back again!

🚇 Gloucester Road
🍺 £5.80 Pravha
❤️ A warm and welcoming good all rounder.
.
The Duke of Clarence is located on busy Old Brompton Road where South Kensington meets Earls Court. The nearest tube is Gloucester Road which is a five minute walk.
.
This pub was built in 1870 by Trumans. The pub has had a couple of interesting names over the years like ‘The Great British Beer Factory’ and ‘The Bram Stoker’, the famous author was a resident of these parts.
.
The decor here is traditional with some contemporary touches here and there. The walls are painted in a dark green and are covered in an eclectic mix of artwork and pictures. There is plenty of seating which is predominantly all low level, I sat on one of the comfy banquettes which are illuminated by beautiful pendant lights. There are some nice other features like the green tiled columns and the backlit bookcase.
.
The beer selection was good and included cask ale. I opted for a pint of Pravha, my pint great if a little lively and cost less than six quid. As this was my last pub of the day, I decided to have some Fish & Chips from the classic British pub grub menu. I really enjoyed the food, price point was £17.50. If you visit on a Sunday, the roast diners here receive rave reviews.
.
I visited around 4pm on a dank Saturday afternoon back in January.
The atmosphere was relaxed, calm and the pub was warm and cosy. The bar wasn’t overly busy with half a dozen or so punters in. There was a couple with their brown Labrador, an American couple and a fella sat at the bar with his earbuds in having a bit of a ding dong with whoever was on the other end. The pub was easy to settle in to and I watched a bit of the rugby on one of the five screens. On that note, if you like your footy, the pub shows live Premier League.
.
@thedukeofclarence was a nice visit and I very much enjoyed my time here. My pint was great and I really enjoyed the food. The setting is traditional and you felt you were in a proper pub. If you’re a sports fan, you’ll be well catered for too. a good all rounder this, definitely worth a visit.
