This place is amazing! They have the best restaurant on the wharf which is blue dolphin! However they’re temporarily closed and they have such an amazing candy shop on here! Parking is great and the employee at the booth was so amazing! He was a great older gentleman and he made my night! If you ever read thank you so much and you’re the best! The only downside is there is paid parking now and it used to be free! However that changed a while ago! So many cute shops to check out as well!
One of the must go to’s if visiting Santa Cruz . The wharf has everything from beach area to great food . If your looking to go kayaking or fishing those are available as well . Recommend the MaKia tiki bar, great drinks. Majority of the food on the wharf isn’t the best and would recommend the Jack O’Neil restaurant if you want something good kinda on the wharf . Humble sea has a pop up spot for great bear in the spring/summer time . All around a great time for the family and only a few steps away from the boardwalk area .
In Santa Cruz gibt es einen großen Holz-Pier/Anglersteg – Wharf. Dort lungern haufenweise Seelöwen herum, sonnen sich, schwimmen etwas und machen ordentlich Lärm. Da vergeht keine ruhige Minute. Immer blökt einer vor sich hin und wenn einer angeschwommen kommt und sich noch mit dazu quetschen will, wird das Geschrei besonders groß.
Über uns schweben haufenweise Möwen, die sich einfach nur in den Wind legen und darauf spekulieren, dass irgendwo was an Futter abzugreifen ist. Und auch Jungvögel sind da. Die haben noch ganz graubraunes Gefieder.
Und Pelikane ziehen ihre Kreise. Die sehen besonders majestätisch aus und haben fast was Magisches. Fliegen meist in Formation. Entweder in Reihe oder als V. Majestätisch vor sich hinblickend, schweben sie übers Meer, direkt über der Wasseroberfläche.
An Läden gab es hauptsächlich natürlich Restaurants und ein paar Souvenirläden mit den typischen Klamotten mit Aufdruck. Besonders nett war das Headquarter-Gebäude. In dessen Schaufenster stand eine Riesensammlung an Solarfiguren.
Außerdem gibt es am Anfang des Piers noch eine kleine Vergnügungsmeile (Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk mit Achterbahn, Karussell und weiteren Restaurants).

Nice wooden wharf. Largest on the west coast. Over a century old. Recently took a wave beating, so parts of the wharf are closed due to safety reasons.
There were many people fishing from the pier all ages, but on this day the fish were not biting.
Again, this is a touristy area and attraction, so food is priced accordingly. So be aware.

Neat strip of tourist traps on the warf. Great candy and chocolate store, a couple nice surf shops.... well tshirt shops, no surf gear.... and the absolute best clam chowder I have ever had.
