Hops Burger Bar

Hops is SO good! Best burgers in town. Wanted to resubmit my rating with a five star. Dined in tonight with my sister and the service was great.

Previous review: I was craving a burger and decided to order Hops instead of Five Guys … I am so glad that I did!

Haven’t had Hops in years but I knew how good their burgers were. Asked for well done— spot on, the angus beef had a wonderful flavor, and applewood bacon was great quality. Thick flavorful bacon! Fries were perfect as well. The host(s) greeted me and they all were super nice and attentive.

I did intend on placing my togo order online but there was an additional fee… Went inside to order to avoid it, so that was an inconvenience. They also add auto gratuity of 18% on parties of 6 or more. I try to stay away from force tip restaurants because those are earned for excellent service, not depending on your party size.

I had a lovely meal at Hops last night. The burger was perfect. I chose the 8oz patty but the six looked fine too. The fries were just average in my opinion, but I did not get them covered in anything! The onion rings were great.
The service was fair. The parking was not great. The restaurant itself was nothing special. Does the food outweigh these? Probably. I want to go to the other location next time where the parking is worse. Be ready for a wait and parking woes but also to walk to your car satisfied!

Got the special, the southern pines burger with chicken and dumpling side. Burger was really good and meat cooked right. Chicken and dumpling side is not something I usually order but since it came with it, I went for it. They were really good, especially on a cold night. Creamy, flavorful, plenty of fresh chicken. Wife got build your own burger, Carolina style. She said hers was good too. Large selection of craft beers (tap and bottles/cans) and several domestics too. Looked like there were a few wine options and basic bar spirits. Service was great. Server was helpful and knew the menu items really well.

Fast service, attentive staff, great food. Excellent buttery melt in your mouth burger. The waiting area is small so opt for the bar if you want to avoid the wait.

Great burgers! Tried a new beer. A bit noisy but I know a lot of people like it that way. It was busy.

First: there is a kids menu but it’s not posted anywhere. You can get 2 tenders and a side. Or a 4oz burger and a side. The price was around $6.25 as of 9/9/23. It was a good amount of food for a kiddo and the price was what I would expect.

I got the Diablo burger and wifey got the fiery goat. Both where really good! The Diablo is on the hot side but not so hot that it it ruins the burger and you can’t taste anything. I maybe wouldn’t order it again but that’s just so I could try different things.

The bacon was also really good. It’s not like some places that use cheap thin back on. This stuff was thick, and you actually knew it was on the burgers.

I got curious with the high praises and North Carolinian food here. Boy, it sure didn't disappoint. If the business can hook you up with fried green 🍅 just right. You're in the right place! Great selection of alcoholic beverages as well. My bartender, Richie, did very well taking care of me. I'll definitely be back for drinks and the food!

Other pros: good amount of parking space. Bar seating, and vegetarian options available as well!
