It has an air of community cultural center even though it has a great valuable collection of antique furniture and other art works. I saw an interesting special exhibition by Elena Poniatowska Amor, and in the courtyard, there was a free concert. It's weekend so in the back garden there is even a fair of indigenous arts and crafts going on. Great festive atmosphere.

A wonderful sample of Spanish architecture. The market held on Saturdays have a very large variety of handcrafts, some of very high quality

I looked for entrance guard there rude .. told me to go to booking desk went then he made me put my tiny daypack in unlocked locker which was not happy about anyone could have tajen my bag no ticket as other museums have in any country then went in they d unnerved me .second door went in they said no we re closed! Then another guard suddenly told me to put mask on..so rude again then got another telling off by first guard as came back again so I said they told me to wear mask..why not just say firstly!!!! The whole world almost are not wearing masks now. I left sadly. This place was empty I think they re just after huge groups. I ve never had such an unwelcoming mean attitude so maybe they should close up... as many churches on my route have today. Square looks pretty but full of very.pricey restaurants .. wouldnt return.

Have you heard of "El Tigre de Santa Julia"? He was a famous thief and lover (Robin Hood was only a pickpocket) that was also a soldier in the Mexican Army during Porfiriato's years.
He was caught.... how to say this without being prosaic... attending the call of nature.
After his trial he was declare guilty. The sentence was death by execution.
His skull is in the museum
