The Great Synagogue in Jerusalem is simply..beautiful. it is truly elegant and beautifully built.
We went inside and the people were extremely friendly, they were nice towards us.
The architecture is mersmerising and the facade of the building stands out.
I would highly recommend visiting it

The biggest synagogue in the world, or at least the most important! The Third Temple will be built on Temple Mount by 2050! Amen.

The service on Friday night is as long as other synagogues. On Shabbos day, the service is 3 hours, usually. There is always a trained cantor ( chazzan) leading the service. Once or twice a month, there is a choir singing along with the cantor. I enjoy going.

This is a beautiful Synagogue in Jerusalem, Israel. They have beautiful glass windows that tell the stories of Israel's history. They have a reform temple in which the females sit upstairs and the males sit downstairs.

As a foreign visitor you're able to visit this synagogue with minor restrictions. You can attend a prayer and hear their songs. A bit odd to be sitting as an outsider amongst these people. To be honest this actually frightened me a little bit. You'll sometimes be given a surprised look but as long as you respect the Orthodox believers, you'll be treated with respect in return.

This is a very inspirational place for me and also a place that is comfortable with strangers not like many other Jewish temples in Jerusalem. Every last Saturday of the Jewish month (no easy translation into regular calander. Ask a Jewish friend or check online) is the major monthly service.
