Swimming here is fabulous on an incoming tide from about two hours after low tide until high tide, when the lagoon is open to the sea. Otherwise the water is “lakey” ie green, soupy and a bit smelly.
You can swim a long way towards the beach. Watch for the odd oyster shell on the left hand side after you go around the bend and are closer to the sea as you can cut your feet.
Great for little kids to paddle in.
