AMC Ridge Park Square 8

I love going to this AMC theater. But yesterday something happened that surprised me. The $5 Tuesday deal is no longer $5 as explained by the ticket counter girl. The price is now $6+ . I get messages from AMC almost everyday. I guess I missed the price change memo.

It's been a very long time since I've been to a movie theater! The plump recliner duos are awesome. I can't eat dairy, so I was happy to hear that the butter flavored topping for the popcorn was coconut oil!!! Watched a really good movie, American Fiction.

Normally I wouldn’t waste time reviewing a corporate movie theater chain… but this is worth a moment.

1. Our seats seemed to be the only ones that wouldn’t recline. Not the end of the world but annoying when you’re paying 15 dollars for a ticket.
2. The general areas were unkept and full of litter. Again, it’s not a make or break, but it’s not lovely to look at.
3. Whatever movie was playing next door, the volume was up WAY too loud. We could hear intense club music for probably 60% of the film, which really was annoying when watching a movie like The Iron Claw. I mean it sounded like a rave was happening next door…..

Save your money and wait till whatever it is you want to see hits streaming.

I recently watched a movie at the AMC theater with my son. We go here kind of frequently, anywhere from once to three times a month, because we love watching movies. He is an AMC Stubs member so he gets a lot of perks, which we don't always use, like free refills and a special line at the concession area. Anyway the experiences are always good. The chairs recline and it seems clean for the most part. Not much else to say. We will be back.

Sound setup is horrible. Movie was quiet, only used the front speakers with random audio cues coming out of the middle and back ones a few times. Popcorn was stale and the place is atrociously filthy compared to that of Cinemark. Staff looks miserable not that it affected me, however probably isn’t a place you would want to bring your kids or loved ones if you’re expecting an uplifting time. Plus theres no temperature control. Expect an experience much like being outdoors. Won’t be getting my money ever again. Cheers.

Theater 2 was clean and the seats were really comfortable. My assigned seat had a wornout armrest but since the place was mostly empty we just moved to different seats. The video and sound quality was great.
