went out to volunteer for the half marathon, a nice pretty place with a whole bunch of white birds in water that was neat!
This little parking lot is tucked away and gives access to a trail by the spillway. Not as many benches as I would like, but the view along the dam is absolutely gorgeous, and the pumphouse is always picturesque. You can often see Great Egrets flying and hunting along the dam, and there is plenty of shady grass near the parking lot to spread a blanket and have a picnic. The parking lot fills up fast, though! Lots of runners and cyclists on the path. This area might be a little sketchy after sundown, so watch out!
Really not much to it. Not like you can go stick your feet in it and cool off during a hot summer day. Parking lot is to small for all the people that want to run or cycle around the lake. Trash all over the place. Nasty gas stations across the street. Yeah this place is nothing more than a landmark.
A great part of the White Rock trail system. Something you don’t see everyday in Dallas. Especially if there has been heavy rain in the area it’s a sight to see.

Biked from the Katy Trail to this location and I was in love with the scenery. Beautiful place for a quick pitstop along the White Rock Trail. Onwards we go!
Really great place to go take pictures and walk and just relax. Beautiful views. I really recommend this for a family getaway. There are several points to enter. Parking can be free.. if you have time, you can visit the Dallas arboretum. Which is very beautiful and popular here among the locals. Great place to exercise, bike rides, or simply a nice long walk.
There are a number of cool spots to check out around White Rock Lake, but this is of course one of the most dynamic.
