Sadly this used to be a place that helped people but for the past year I have been calling and leaving messages and nobody bothers to return your call. This is supposed to be a place that helps people. Not even the receptionist pick up the phones.

I’ve had my 1st time volunteering and the best one!! The team is very kind, generous and open to help others. Highly recommend to have this experience in life!! God bless America and y’all for such a great service you guys provide!!

They are an absolute example of the love Christ asks us to have for each other, going above and beyond with a true smile on their face.

It is obvious the appointment scheduling system is “EXTREMELY” tainted towards other races but, favorable to Spanish. Spanish volunteers, Spanish recipients. There is some inside something going on, I don’t know what. I have seen personal phone calls being accepted by staff for cancellation, that is the only way I could get an appointment for that day with the assistance of Spanish staff. There has to be oversight. Something stinks!!! The same people are at the sight for pickup week after week also,
NOT EVERYONE HAS ACCESS TO THE INTERNET. WHAT ABOUT THE BLIND AND THE HOMELESS?
I hate to tell you this, but computers CAN discriminate. Humans program them. What do you think the complaints are pertaining to AI.
Your system is NOT a fair system for making appointments. YOUR SYSTEM does not allow the disabled to make appointments, able bodied people are the ones who your system caters to.

I am a professional life coach and spiritual mentor, and I have offered to work for free as a volunteer, offering 10 hours per week physically and unlimited time remotely offering over 25 programs to help people with spiritual and emotional problems such as depression, addiction, victims of domestic violence, counseling, group therapy, individual counseling, and other similar areas of recovery and support for people in emerging need, counseling, group therapy, individual therapy, and other similar areas of recovery and support for people in emerging need, and for the reason that they do not have a single program in these areas they have discarded me as if I were a rabid dog, they are simply not interested in my services, God save us from all these servants of Satan.

Institutions like Catholic Charities receive millions of dollars every year but always seem to be out of funds. I've lived in 3 different states and every one I've sought financial assistance from has an explanation of why they're not taking any more clients, why the case managers are overloaded, unable to schedule an appointment, and/or unable to supply you food! I wonder what would happen if someone came in to complete an audit, what would they find?!
Here in Central Florida, when you're seeking assistance for the Family Stability Program, you're redirected to 211 and then they tell you that they're no longer in charge of scheduling Catholic Charities' appointments. So I emailed them-no response! I called the number and tried leaving messages at 2 different extensions-no response. I called again and tried leaving a message in the general mailbox-it was full so no luck there!
I drove down there on my only day off (because I have to keep working in order not to be homeless), the receptionist tells me that they're not taking any new clients until November. However, she couldn't give me a precise date because case managers don't know. I tried getting in line to get food for my family of 5 and was informed that you have to make an appointment. I tried calling to make an appointment-no answer!
There is so many opportunities for Catholic Charities to improve and move into the current century with technology, but we all know that if they did that-someone would be able to hold them accountable!
So my advice for those individuals who are working class people like myself struggling to stay afloat, be aware that when you seek help from Catholic Charities, it's like a dream deferred.
And to Catholic Charities, there's no need to reply to this post. What would help me more than your repetitive explanations of why you can't help people, is for you to actually return an email, case managers to clean out their voicemails, and have your receptionist pick up the phone!

I called them every hour every day for a week and left my name , phone number and other information to beg for help and and not one person from Catholic Charities bothered to call me back when I needed help the most ..that's my humble opinion..
