Our 3.5 years old son absolutely loved this playground! Out of every other Central Park playgrounds we've been to, this one had highest constructions and longest slides.
Great park for picnics with your family. And a feeat place to bring your kids to play. They also have police patrol consistent. Safe and well kept area .
Tarr Family Playground is one of Central Park’s adventure-style playgrounds.
Large climber with a tunnel and slides, a modern net climber, a variety of swings for all ages, a wooden tree house, water feature, and a concrete maze.
It includes custom features including wood tree houses, a climbing mound with a slide and tunnel, and an interactive water feature. A bridge bisects the play space, dividing it into one area for older children and another for younger children.

Such a nice place and fun for the kids. Alot of different things to do. Think it's a playground for kids 4 years and up.

Great playground, good structures and easy to keep track of your kids.
Amazing playground.
Best for kids 4 and older, but an adventurous 2 or 3 year old can have lots of fun as well.
Has some swings for younger kids and two amazing tall slides that you can only access by climbing a wall or stairs.
On the downside, there are no restrooms here nor nearby.
There are some sprinklers and several different sandboxes. Actually, most structures are either directly on the sand or on a sandy terrain.
There are several long trees on the west of the playground, so if it is a very hot day I would only come in the afternoon.
Overall, a very solid choice for the upper upper west side.
