Didn’t know the place, booked for an important lunch with family to have a taste of local kitchen and it was great. Food is good and traditional, portions are right and prices are fair. Service is kind and atmosphere calma and quiet. Highly recommended!

We tried a bunch of dishes and everything tasted great. The osso bucco (I think it was called Milanese on the menu) was really tasty. We also had spicy ice cream and almond cake for dessert, and both were delicious.

Wonderful restaurant, with the Ossobuco a la Milanese. A bit hidden in the wall, and very charming with the train inspired decor!

Absolutely fantastic meal, and the service was great. I was super appreciative that the staff were happy to fit me in without reservation on a busy Friday night, and the lemoncello at the end was a highlight! Thanks to all the staff and to the chef!

Tasty choices and a good experiences.
Plates were full, but felt slightly short of umami.
Would definitely recommend as there were more option that we don’t have enough room in the stomach for.
Service was accommodating, fast and friendly.
We saw more locals inside then tourist, which is a good sign.

This restaurant was featured in Stanley Tucci's Searching for Italy series and I just had to try it for myself. From the moment my family and I stepped foot inside, we were captivated by the warm ambiance and the impeccable service.

Our party of 3 were served by Josh and he had great attention to detail. Throughout the evening, Josh guided us effortlessly by suggesting wine pairings that elevated the flavors and small plates that goes well with our main dishes. The attentive service and Josh's knowledge enhanced the overall dining experience, leaving a lasting impression.

For starters, we had the beef Milanese meatballs, Milanese Mix, and Slow Food Protection Mix. The cold cits of the slow food mix were amazing and melts in the mouth with every blossful bite. The Milanese mix had impeccable balance of creaminess and subtle yet distinct flavors that left us craving for more.

Moving on to the main course, I was presented with a tender and succulent veal steak, which is a signature dish of the region. The veal shank, bathed in a flavorful white wine-based sauce was an absolute delight. The meat fell effortlessly off the bone, and each mouthful was a symphony of robust flavors that showcased the skill and expertise of the chef. My sister had the taglatielle Bergamot sheep ragu which had fresh pasta and flavorful meat whereas my mother had the baccala dish that was equally delish.

We would have wanted to stay longer for dessert but we had to finish the night early to catch a show.

If you find yourself in Milan, do not miss the opportunity to embark on this gastronomic adventure and explore the timeless treasures of traditional Milanese cuisine at Osteria del Treno.
