This contemporary gallery in the beautifully refurbished historical high school is a treasure for Sarasota. Only $15 admission, spent 2 hours enjoying 3 separate exhibitions. Numerous employees offered interesting conversation about the works, one even attended high school there! As an artist and glass lover, I was enthralled by the Richard and Barbara Basch collection. This is a must see for glass lovers! Thank you Barabara for sharing it. I was told more of her collection is at the Ringling college gallery, where these will return Feb 11. Also had lunch at the Bistro, very good. Will be back soon.

Wonderful kunsthalle šŸ‘Œ. The current exhibition is beautiful. We enjoyed the Chef dinner with a guided tour. Both A+. Virginia, the Exec Director, led the walk through the exhibition and shared amazing knowledge. We will be back!

A very contemporary and different art museum, worth visiting. The staff was exceptional and gave you an introduction to each area. They had a Chihuly display among many interesting and thought-provoking displays. They offer classes as well.

Excellent exhibits by Cuban born Juana Valdes, a Basch glass collection exhibit which includes wonderful pieces by Chilhuly and Lucio Bubacco, and an exhibit by Judy Pfaff titled ā€œPicking up the Piecesā€ after the devastation of hurricane Ian on Southwest Florida in September 2022.

These exhibits run through February 11,2024. Allow 2+ hours for these fascinating exhibits.

Highly recommended.

I had my first "free art Sunday" class experience and it was genuinely awesome and fun.

Every other Sunday a free art class is offered to those interested. This weekend was painting, using air dry sculpy to make a boat, and a third room with some various, small art tables.

If you have kids who don't mind trying new things, you want to just get an introduction to new art styles, or just straight up have fun ... Check this out.

This was my first visit, and I loved it! I watched the old high school being renovated and the museum move in and finally decided to check it out. It was so cool! Not your traditional art (paintings and sculptures) but new and different mediums and created things I never would have thought of.

The staff was super nice and very helpful. We will definitely be going back as they change the exhibits on a regular basis.

My wife and I came to the Jazz Thursday event to hear Synia Carroll, an old friend perform. Not a huge fan but it was awesome to hear live music with a three piece band. Synia was great and really entertained the sold out audience. Itā€™s a great venue, a former high school with a huge parking lot with free parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We got wine from the outdoor bar. You could order food from the restaurant and they deliver right to where you are sitting. Weather was perfect. Lovely evening out.
