Village Cafe

I rather enjoyed this place.on many levels. But I will start by saying when I grabbed the door to walk in there was a sign stated "help needed" this sign instantly told me ok be patient they are short staffed
Then I asked myself do we have extra time today..... yes ok let's give this place I've never been to a fair shot. Well. As expected it took some extra time but I prepared myself I made sure we did not add to the stress of this short staffed business. All orders known and ready ordered. Enjoy conversation with my children as we waiting. The food was honestly better than I expected. Tasted fresh veggies in my omelette had a crunch/snap so I know they weren't frozen. Then as we are enjoying our meal I noticed something and I was completely and utterly shook. There was a man older bussing tables one a chef's outfit. And clearly a chef proud of his trade his name was embroidered into the shirt. Not business name his name. As I ate I realized the amount of pride the person who prepared our food clearly had because the food was all cook well but not over fancy after all it's breakfast and the cafe not. The Ritz-Carlton or in the Hamptons Napa valley this is small town DeLand lol. This man the chef is proud enough to humble himself enough to come buss table! My hat is off to you sir and everyone in this fine establishment !!! Great job guys and gals I will forever be a loyal customer! Now onto address some rude reviews and some nasty customers.(clears throat) If you know a business is in it's first year of new management/ownership please understand they have to go through normal growing pains. Don't be one of these pains.this is not a pinky out type place so get that out of your head right now! This is more like a meal or get together at a aunt uncle or cousins house they know regulars names and orders. And "sweetie ketchup,creamer, etc ahhh yeah just a second Mike, if you want just grab it you know where it is" if that type of family environment is what you seek look no further if you wants gold standard hand and foot treatment go somewhere else this place and it's patrons don't need or want you here. Thank you for being a true small business and the plates being completely clean should be the absolute best compliment a chef and his staff could receive well done to all of you!

This place is a total gem! Coffee that wakes the dead, burgers so juicy they'll make you drool, and freshly baked bread that feels like heaven in your mouth. Get here ASAP! 🍔☕🥖😋

It was a cozy experience, the customer service was excellent and the time in which we were served what we ordered was fast. It is a very good place.

This is by far my favorite Cafe to visit in the Deland/Daytona area. I dont live in the area, but I visit here very often and always this cafe is my first stop of my trip. Whether you're coming for Breakfast/Lunch or just coffee, you're going to be thoroughly pleased with your choices. The coffee in particular is my absolute favorite because it is inimitable by others. Whether you want decaf, regular coffee, or specialty lattes, hot or cold, you're going to end up with a cup of coffee that's worth driving for. Every time I tried to find a decent coffee place from my home city, I was met with underwhelming and overpriced coffee at almost every single location, so when I first tried the coffee here, I knew I was going to be coming back time and time again. Aside from the coffee, ALL of the staff and owners deserve a mention as well, because not only are they all extremely friendly and kind, but they very clearly care about their customers and about doing their jobs the best they can every single day. That is truly unmatched. I've you're in the area, or just passing by, stop by, it'll be so worth it.

I'm highly disappointed in this so-called restaurant. We went to finally go to try out this place out since we were gifted a gift card. The people at the counter tell us our gift card may not be good because it was purchased with previous owners...the place has the same name, you should honor our gift card. But they then ask this guy sitting in the corner like the 'God Father'. He eventually says we can't use our $30 gift card! Are you kidding me? Do you not want our future business and our good word of mouth? This "owner" obviously knows nothing about Customer Service and cares nothing about his customers. It was obviously a sign from the Universe to not eat here.  While standing there waiting, the place is filthy, and very run down, we probably would have got food poisoning if we had eaten here.  The lack of Customer Service and respect of honoring the Customer was very bad. As a business owner and someone who always respects and honors my customers with excellent Customer Service, it's shocking to see such poor business management.  I DO NOT recommend EVER eating here. Give business to a owner who wants customers.

Very pleasant Sunday brunch in the Victoria Square area! Breakfast and lunch available all day. We got right in, served fast and friendly, and pleasant atmosphere. Servers very friendly and attentive. All the food was fresh and prepared well. I made my own combo of a half order of Benedict, side of bacon, and half a biscuit and gravy and the biscuits and gravy some of the best I’ve had! They put cheese, onions and peppers in the hash or home fries if you want it. Everything is made fresh which I love. Sugar free syrups for your coffee and will serve it iced. All delicious. We each grabbed a bakery case treat to go too! Highly recommended.
