Zappeion Hall

It’s a beautiful conference building in the middle of the park and unfortunately there's not much more to say about it.

It's pretty much a modern building built in a classicist style that can provide some respite from walking in its colonnaded courtyard. Nice enough, but buildings like this are a dime-a-dozen in Europe so most travelers won't be too impressed

It is a very impressive building with rich historical past. If you go there with no people it is very quietly and calmly. When you enter the building from the main entrance and go forward inside the building you get into a circle-styled "garden" with a small fountain in the middle of it. Personally it was a very interesting experience that "teleports" you to the old greek aristocratical architecture. I recommend this place!

The Zappeion Megaron is a part of national heritage of Greek civilization, designed by T. Hansen (1874-1888). Evangelis Zappas, a Greek patriot and benefactor from North Epirus, envisaged the rebirth of the spirit of ancient Greece and devoted his life to the revival of the Olympic Games and the promotion of the Αrts.

The Zappeion Megaron has been an active part of Greece's history and that of Hellenism, for the last 130 years. Cultural events of great importance take place within the precinct. The Olympia(d) and Bequests Committee, not only highlights the historical milestones related to the Olympic activities, but also to those related to the cultural identity of Greece in general.

The Committee aspires to fulfil the aims of Zappeion and to be conducive to the industrial, financial and cultural growth of Greece.

Beautiful building, and the gardens sourounding it are really nice. A part of it was open to the public to see the architecture inside. Lovely stroll around!

I was just wandering around in the National gardens to the east of the Acropolis and came across this imposing edifice. Apparently, it is used as an event venue. The main entry door was unlocked, so I was able to see the rather elegant entry hall containing many elements of classical architecture. What I saw made for grand photos. I would imagine a formal dinner in here would be a delightful experience.
