Great, golf course. It is a shorter golf course and has a few holes where it's forces you to lay up on the longer holes to make the shorter yardage work.
It is a beautiful course and I would definitely recommend for any serious golfer as this is not a course someone who is new to golf should play as there are a lot of holes you have to carry a decent amount just to get a ball in play.

There are certainly 5 star aspects to Oak Bay. The conditioning was excellent, apart from the tees. The par 3 7th hole is their signature hole. It is a well designed hole with beautiful views to an inlet from Georgian Bay. What I saw of the clubhouse facilities looked very good. Price was $125 + HST which was fair.
I admit that my opinion of the layout would likely be better if I was a more accomplished golfer. But I feel that being the course that a residential community is built around there are likely a lot of higher handicap golfers attempting to play this course. Be warned. Your golf ego will take a bruising and you will lose a lot of balls.
There are multiple semi blind carries off the tee to tight fairways that seem to slope to unforgiving ‘rough’. By rough I am meaning dense forest and marsh, lined everywhere with poison ivy. The course posts many warnings about the poison ivy, so look for your lost ball at your risk. Pace of play was predictably slow. The front nine on a busy Saturday took 2 hrs and 45 minutes. Pace improved on the back nine.Despite a shorter yardage, this courses has a deservedly high slope. Because of the short yardage the low handicap player may find this course less than satisfying whereas the high handicapper will probably leave frustrated. So I give failing marks to the designer and course developers.
I won’t return until my game improves, which unfortunately I know is not going to happen.

Beautiful course with stunning views and world class dining. Even the most skilled golfer will have a tough time on this course, the challenging par 3 with the huge cliff over Georgian Bay will make any golfer curse. Fairways and greens are kept in superb condition. Highly recommended.

I will start by saying this course is beautiful and has some very nice holes. You will need to hit your shots on the par 3 on the green or they will be lost in the water or heavy bush. Challenging and fun course to play. We found everything well maintained except for the bunkers which were mostly unplayable if your ball went in there.
The carts are equipped with a touch screen that displays yardage from your spot on each hole and can view flyovers before teeing off. Overall great experience but for a round of golf at this cost you would assume better sand even though I don’t plan on spending most of my day on the beach, 6th hole is outstanding so don’t leave your camera in the cart when walking to the tee.
If you hit balls in the bush be prepared to lose them as there is warnings all over the course for poison ivy so be prepared.
