The Ranger was very knowledgeable. The house was well preserved. Cute little gift shop. All in all, a great historical park.

Located in the beautiful Cincinnati City, Ohio. This historic place offers so much. Ranger helped us so much and told about so many things about, William H Taft. This is the property where William Howard Taft was born and grew up. The site focuses not only on the former president but on his parents, siblings and other family members. The first floor is furnished as the home was and the second floor is more like a traditional museum. There is a visitor center with restrooms, gift shop, and a film. Tours are available. The day we were there, they were short staffed, but a docent was available on each floor of the house to answer questions. There is parking on the street and in a nearby lot. The site is entirely handicap accessible. There is an elevator in the house where there are also restrooms. It is completely free including tours. I would suggest 1 1/2 hours to see and read. You will need to read to absorb everything.

A beautiful tribute and tons of information about the 27th POTUS who served 1909-1913 and was the only person to serve not only as POTUS but also Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (1921-1930). Among other things, he was responsible for establishing the income tax and splitting the Republican Party such that it let to the election of Woodrow Wilson.

The historic site was the birthplace and childhood home of the man. It is a two-story structure built around 1845 and was purchased by Alphonso Taft (William Howard Taft's father) in 1851. The family was upper class and so they used the house for social events.

The house is open for touring and includes several rooms set up in period style as it would have been if the Taft family were still living here. Some larger rooms have mementoes and captions explaining the life and times of the former POTUS and SCOTUS Chief Justice. There's a lot to read and take in. Expect at least an hour, probably two.

William Howard Taft is a president I feel is often forgotten. Don't let that deter you from coming here. If anything that's more reason to come here. So much history can be found at the William Howard Taft National Historical Site. It's a must do if you're in Cincinnati and have even a passing interest in the history of American politics.

This is a nice little place to visit in Cincinnati. We learned a lot about President Taft and being from the Philippines, I was always intrigued about him. I didn’t know until visiting the place that he’s the only US president who also became chief justice of Supreme Court!

William Howard Taft is a president that I knew almost nothing about before my visit to his Cincinnati birthplace. The historical site left me with an appreciation for his contributions to the country and a better understanding of what he stood for and how his family was connected to the community, other politicians, and the Republican party. The home has been heavily restored to put it back in the condition near his birth. Lots of reading is required to take in all of the displays. Worth a quick visit though.

We enjoyed our stop here. We got a tour in a small group and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. The could be a quick trip or as long as you want - outside of the fact that they close for a lunch break for their staff (as they should!) so just plan accordingly. A nice stop!
