Visited May 2023, and had an enjoyable experience. The lady at the visitors center was really pleasant and answered our questions about wildlife of the area on display, she is very knowledgeable. We even got to see a gator swimming in the bayou from the walkway. Scenery is beautiful and the walking trails are nice.

Love Black Bayou. Always beautiful with something new to see. The trails are great to hike. Not too long and varied scenery.

A wonderful place to explore flora and fauna alongside helpful and kind people. We enjoyed our time with Jim, learning with snakes, newts and turtles. His passion shines! Visit the gift shop for more enjoyment, walk trails and soak up the beauty of the bayou!

Just had a quick hour to spend, and glad we did! There was a program promoting hunting and fishing while we were there, so it was pretty loud and busy. But one of the park attendants caught us and filled us in on where to go for the short hour we had. The swamp looked very low, we only saw one 2-3 foot gator, a few egrets, and a TON of dragon flies buzzing around. The lotus pads looked pretty dry and sad, but there was a bunch. The boardwalk they’ve built is super nice. I’d like to go back in the spring!

Incredibly beautiful. The lillies, trees, flowers, birds, alligators and spiders. What a neat place, well worth a visit. The wooden walking path out into the lake is amazing. The signs were a bit misleading as we followed the first sign to the observation deck. This deck lead into a thick Forest/swamp without much of a view. Went back to the turn to the education center and there we found the boardwalk out onto the lake.
Thanks!
