Vardis Taverna

We went there for a quick bite on our way to the ferry. The staff was very friendly and the food was great. We had a greek salad, fava, mussels and fried potatoes.

Amazing food! Great small plates for sharing. Amazing quality, authentic style and turned out to be a great atmosphere. It is unusual and looks run down but the outdoor seated area under the trellis was lovely. The menu was clear and easy to understand. Service was great. Made for a great evening.

We had a great meal. They have this amazing Peloponesian cheese on pita, a must try! And the waiter was perhaps the kindest guy we’ve seen in Crete in 3 weeks. Thank you so much!

Fab place to eat an authentic and reasonable meal. Waitress speaks fluent English. Very informal authentic Greek taverna. Lots of Greek people eating here. ( photos were taken later at midnight so it looks empty) Menu between 4.50€ to 11€ and good portions of fresh tasty food. Highly recommended

Vardis taverna hosts you under their lovely trellis, providing a cozy atmosphere. Their hostess is friendly and attentive. The mezes are very tasty, as are the drinks. Towards the end we were served dessert on the house, which consisted of fruit and greek orange cake

Beautiful secluded place, we came thinking it's in the middle of nowhere but later more and more people came to eat. Very cosy and shaded terrace, perfect for a chill afternoon with delicious food. Excellent and quick service. Our favourites were Greek salad and tzatziki. Beef steak was not our favorite but overall a great place to come to eat traditional Cretan food. Thank you

The food was fantastic. Wonderfully tasty and really fresh. The only thing that caught us out was the size of the salads. We were expecting sides and when they arrived you could have fed four people with them. Absolutely lovely, just impossible to finish.
