Cafe Ranzan

Good and yummy food 😋 Coffee and cake was delicious!

I visited Arashiyama with my wife back in 2018. Most visitors return to Kyoto by the end of a day, while we decided to stay. Everything closes, except for Ranzan, which saved our lives with a beatiful omurice just before closing. We still remember this meal. Thank you

I couldn't find any other restaurants serving breakfast on this part of Arashiyama, and not many serving lunch with reliable hours, so Cafe Ranzan kind of has the market cornered.

The food and drinks are good but are a little overpriced, in my opinion. Quality of service varies depending on who is serving you.

Wonderful breakfast. Cappuccino, scones, chocolate cake, and egg+ham sandwich were
all great!

We came here very late at 5:30, and despite shutting at 6 they let us in to eat even though last orders must have been called. We ordered the beef curry and omelette rice which was hot, full of flavour and came out within minutes of ordering! Totally recommend if you are visiting the bamboo forest! Thank you!

Across from Arashiyama train station and stopped in to check it out. They have authentic ginger ale with actual ginger in it, it was fantastic. Got a ham sandwich which was basic but good, still cant understand why you cant get cheese on a sandwich anywhere in japan, but oh well. It came with a little salad which was yum. Got a cappuccino, too. Place is dated and nothing special but quiet, nice jazz music and lots of different drinks/desserts on the menu.

It was snowing so we went in for a cozy and warm breakfast. I really like scones, they were served warm. Good place with clean restroom.
