Little six seat shop, old school coffee brew. Excellent croissants. Coffee is expensive, other food & drink is nicely priced. Owner was top notch.

Phenomenal little cafe full of ambience, intrigue, stories and wonderful coffee. Each seat has its own entrance to the cafe!
It is so much more than just a coffee: the coffee percolates on a decorative brass device and then is served in coffee cups full of history.
Often frequented by geiko and maiko and other Gion entertainers we were lucky enough to be there at the same time as a “horror story teller”. As she said Gion is a wonderland, including this wonderful cafe /bar and host.

One of my favorite places in Kyoto
The bar is very cozy and welcoming, with a good selection of beers. However, the highlight of the bar is the owner, who made us want to stay there for hours jist chatting with him.

Walked in for some snacks and tea.
Asked for ice cream, they don’t have ice cream. Asked for sweet pastry from the menu, out if nine there was only one croissant available. The waiter was pleasant first, pushing for expensive bottled beer, when I declined, he became not so friendly.
There were no draft beer on tap.
They don’t see you as customers but money machines, avoid at all cost.

Amazing staff! Extremely helpful and friendly going out of their way to make us feel welcome. Definitely give this little gem a visit if you are in the area.
