The Arbutus Room at Brentwood Bay Resort

What an exceptional dining experience. Amazing views, food and wine. Catering to my need for gluten-free food was beyond sensational. They substituted GF bread on the grazing board, and the Hokkaido Scallops (Wild mushroom risotto, porcini, truffle, chardonnay vinegar, parmigiano) was perfection! We will be back! The onsite pub also has plenty of gluten-free options with a dedicated fryer! A must for those with celiac disease!

Had a fantastic night, very well looked after by Darren, food was amazing, the special was a fish/seafood dish - outstanding!! Steaks to perfection, and desert was excellent!! Had a lot of fun in a relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff and good wine /coffee. Thanks to the Chef! Will be back soon!

We visited here for the Dine around. The lobster grilled cheese was great! The lobster bisque and the lobster itself (tender - perfectly cooked) were amazing. The burrata salad was a bit disappointing since the dressing was too simple. I could taste salt here, vinegar there with oil. I felt it was not mixed well and didn't have much flavour.
The short rib was tender. The Lasagna was just okay. It had lots of broccoli, and the flavour was just what you would expect for a cream sauce with cheese and broccoli. Unfortunately, I didn't like the texture of the pasta either.
Dessert was okay. Tiramisu was too sweet with lots of chocolate rather than espresso. Panna cotta was not what I expected... what I know is white, gelatiney, light and puddingy. What I got was more gooey/sticky, heavy, and tasted like butterscotch jello cups.
The view was amazing. If you are going for a view and some drinks, this would be a great place to visit.

Fabulous!!! We live in the neighbourhood but just never think of going here because of seeing bad reviews but found out there is a new Chef and new menu so thought we would give it a try. The restaurant itself is gorgeous in a beautiful setting and we went during the holidays so was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Our meals were delicious!! Large portions and cooked to perfection. Lots of options on the menu too. All in all was a lovely evening and will definitely be back!

Food has improved immensely over the past year. Menu was great, service was fantastic and felt very welcomed for our first time in for dinner.

I have emailed the resort but have not received any reply. Posting this is the only option I feel I have so that any local residents are aware of what service to expect. Dinner experience at this business was extremely dissatisfying Friday Sept 8 my husband and I celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and want to go some place really nice close to home so the reservation was made. We arrived at 5:00p.m. for our reservation wand was seated around 5:10. Our server arrived and we placed an order for two cocktails, after our server reviewed the menu specials we decided on the Melon salad. We were very disappointed that when the salad arrived it also brought with it may fruit flies (should have been complementary). After that we request to be seated outside where there were no flies present. We order wine with our dinner and both of the dinners were OK but not as spectacular as we expected for the price, however the decanter that the white wine arrived in was very dirty and returned to be replaced (should have been complementary). Over all we would not recommend this experience to our friends and we did expect some compensation for the unfortunate experience. This was not what we expected for a dinner experience that cost over $200.00. Please feel free to contact us thur email.
