What an amazing ride!
The people who provide their time to operate this are so knowledgeable and more than happy to answer questions. The train ride was comfortable and the train itself was stunning inside. Very old and rustic. It was likr a nature walk on wheels. There were snacks for sale and different cars you could sit in, including an 'outdoor" cart. Very affordable and worth it! 1

What a great day! The volunteers are knowledgeable and talk about the history of the area as you travel through it. The train cars are well maintained and they even have a bathroom if you need it. I will continue to recommend as often as I can.

Very interesting and scenic ride. Even as a local, learned a lot. Highly recommend it.
Honestly I liked it more than the North Shore Scenic railroad.

We did the 10:30 a.m. train this morning and it was nice and relaxing. We sat on a coach car on the way out and then went to the open Safari car for the ride back. Both were nice. The narration is only for the way out then you can talk on the way back, so if you haven't been on this train (or even if you have) try to keep your voice down on the first part of the trip so people who actually want to hear the information they are giving about the area can hear it! Never ceases to amaze me how rude people are. The volunteers that work here are awesome. Multiple volunteers stopped next to us just to give us another tidbit of info which made it even more fun. They are cleaning up areas of the river but it is still a really nice trip! You actually see more water on this train than the other train downtown.
They don't scan tickets off the phone so make sure you print your tickets at home if you can before you show up otherwise you have to wait in a line and have them give you tickets at the ticket booth. I did not know this but will for next time!

This is an excellent museum full of rolling stock, locomotives, artifacts and displays about the railroad history of this area. It is a don't miss it spot. I highly recommend it. The staff were friendly and helpful people too.

It's a very scenic and enjoyable ride. Historic restored Pullman cars that follows a short segment of a very historic route. Tour guide narration along the way details the sights and history of the area.
