People are polite and the place is overall clean and has enough stores and snacks, BUT...

Something went wrong in their digital systems and everyone spent 2-3 hours in several lines before flights. Be aware of such possibility before planning the flight.

I flew to Scotland this past week from London and then had a flight to Paris the next day. When I arrived we were a little early to then expected so I decided to go through the security checkpoint as earlier as possible. In the London airport I didn’t know that a had to have a bag for all my liquids. So I was prepared to do it again. I was traveling with my family and we were all together and we were the first in line and that’s when the lady told us to put all the liquids in a bag and I still had my stuff in the London bag but I put it in another so it wouldn’t be so full and the lady in front starts telling us repeatedly that we needed to put all the liquids in one bag. I was able to fit everything and then I went through the whole security and I went to get all the bags for my group my grandma had gone first with my dad and my grandma was organizing her stuff since they were looking through her stuff because she had forget some liquids she forget to put in the bag. So keep in mind that my grandma had a really big bag with lot of stuff and the security person was opening everything to make sure he got out every single liquid. So while she was doing that I went to where my bag was since they needed to check it because I forget to put in a perfume in the bag. When I was there the guy was understanding that not everything could fit in the bag but he told me it was ok. He checked it an everything was good and I start reorganizing my bag to put in all the stuff that he took out. I go and talk to my dad and the same lady that was rude to us in the beginning threw away his shampoo because it didn’t fit in the bag at first she was going to throw away his medicine but my dad later explained that he needed it so she threw away something else. After I was done talking to him I got really upset because I went to check with my grandma to see if she had finished organizing her stuff when she tells me that they guy going through her bag had finished and was moving on to someone else and that he moves all her stuff to the floor to make space my grandma and was on the floor picking up everything. These people need to try to be a little nicer and help around and not be so mean. By the way they had a iPad to ask about your experience and surprisingly one was broken and the other one didn’t have an iPad.

Special assistance staff were amazing. So friendly, caring, and efficient. Really good they have a special reserved area upstairs beyond security, so you don't have to worry about getting help after waiting.

The wooden seating in the general gate area looks very cool, and I think you can get people seated than on traditional seats.

Where Scotland meets the World! This is a good airport for the most part, although it is definitely small on a relative scale when you take into consideration the number of people and airlines this airport caters to. As such, I have noticed that it has been quite crowded on the three instances I have been here, and baggage check moves very slowly as a result. Regarding security checks, I do not like the fact that every time I've been here, items have been seized from me with no reasonable justification.

There are cafes and restaurants around, as well as shops. There is also an abundance of transport options to and from here, and the environment is clean and well-maintained.

Worst airport to fly through. My return flight home (to Dallas) was a nightmare due to this airport. The airport doesn't open bag drop until 4:30am and this caused a massive backup. I waited in the bag drop line for over a hour. My flight was delayed due to this as all passengers were either stuck in bag drop or in security. Then, when I finally got up to security, there was just a huge mob of people. No line, no organization or order. No staff to assist. It took over a hour to get through security. Our flight was delayed until 7 which caused us to miss our connection which in turned caused our bags to be lost in London. A horrible way to end my wedding and honeymoon.

Not too bad of an airport, definitely small for how many airlines and people travel through. The arrival was good, the custom was not so bad. They have automated passport scanners. The departure was okay, the bin system is good if everyone knows to take the whole bin to get your stuff. Instead of taking their bags out and leaving the bins there. For some reason most of the people with tablets/iPads got their bag pulled to be open. It took almost 30 minutes for the security to get to my bag and just to rescan my iPad mini. A lot of buses to get to the city. Tram was also an option. A lot of shops and restaurants in the terminal. The lounges are at one end of the airport, if your gates are 1-3 you have a long walk to 16. There was one lounge at gate 4 but they opened at 9 am.
