Nice place to sit and relax on the benches. Surrounded by cafes. Car park nearby. Flowers/ hanging baskets look well cared for.

Historic centre of the town commonly called the cross as the area leads to the Palace, lochside and high street. This part of town is kept very tidy and showcases how historic the area is.
There has been a Well at the Cross since at least the 16th century. The present structure built in 1807 " is said to be an exact copy of its predecessors built in 1628 and 1668. It was created by a one-handed stonemason.Robert Gray, who worked with a mallet, strapped to his handless arm, for a cost of £315

Centre point of historic town and at the bottom of the road leading to the palace which is well worth a visit. Linlithgow is a lovely town with nice eateries, independent shops and great walks.

Apart from the Cross Well, go to Linlithgow it is steeped in history, a gem in West Lothian's crown. The town itself has some lovely individual shops, great cafes/bar, great chippies. Beecraigs not far away either..u can fill your day easily in this great place, young & not so young. Give it a go u wont regret it.

Load of coffee and tea shops around this square. The well is also very close to the palace. The well itself does not serve water. It looks more like a little monument. No benches but still very nice. It demarks the heart of Linlithgow.
