Shri Laxmi Narayan Mandir Dharamshala

Rooms are serviceable, but not very clean. The geyser was barely working. Bedsheets, mattresses and blankets were dirty.

We had booked an extra mattress, but there was nobody to give it to us... On asking the staff, they just said to pick one up from a heap of blankets.

This dharamsala is maintained by the mandir trust. They have AC 2 BED with attached bathroom and Non AC 2 BED without attached bathroom rooms. The premises of the dharmashala is clean. Also the rooms are spacious and in bathroom they have geyser for hot water. Food is available in the mandir canteen which is situated near the parking area. This dharamsala is providing much better value than the Paharganj budget hotels.

Birla Mandir is one of the biggest temple in Delhi , it's so huge and have best architecture, the carving of various hindu deities on wall is marvelous .
Remember one thing that photography is prohibited in temple so you have to submit your phone to the temple authority and your Phones will be save by them .

The concept of Dharamshala is getting phased out these days because of Modern culture and increased standard of living. It's really great to see that Laxmi Narayan Mandir or the Birla Mandir still has maintained this Dharamshala so well. I first used this Dharamshala fir two nights when i first came to Delhi in 2002 when the hotels were really costly. Out of school new in Delhi looking for shelter along with my best friend this place came as a boon. Being in the temple premise the divinity is in air even if you don't go to the temple but by being in the Dharamshala one can feel the presence of Lord as the prayers and arti sound keeps coming. Let me give you a quick information about it :
#Rooms can be booked on the spot basis the availability
# There are two kinds of rooms available - AC for 900 Rs a night and Non AC for 350 Rs a night.
#One can even book just a locker to keep stuffs but for them the only place to sleep would be verandah
#No alcohol or prohibited things allowed during the stay
#The gates of the Dharamshala closes maximum by 11PM.
if great service, comfort and experience is in question then this is not the place to stay but if staying to spend the night with basis requirements and also have darshan of Lord Laxmi Narayan is in view then please go for it.
