Watched the eclipse here and ate some good fish and chips. Less crowded than the Chelsea Market across the avenue. Find the elevator and press whatever the highest floor is to get to the rooftop part.

At the Pier you can find places selling Indian, Chinese, Mexican food and some desserts. The view you have to see the sunset is breathtaking

One of the few wonderful places with great views, daily events (at least half free), amazing food options (15+ with multiple cuisines) in Manhattan that is not always crowded, making it a gem worth visiting and spending entire afternoon/night. Strongly recommend.

It has a wonderful view of the One World Trade Center, Little Island, downtown NYC and the Hudson river, especially from the Rooftop that is open. For food there are Indian (Ammi canteen), seafood (the galley, Mother Shuckers), Chinese (Nom wah), ice cream (Malai, Paleta), soul food(Harlem Pop), Mexican, Cajun and so much more.

Events tend to change from free Ukulele classes, cooking classes, science talks, open artist forums, free guided gallery tours etc, which can be found on the website.
