Edgewood Baptist Church is the most down to earth churches that I've ever had the pleasure of attending. The humility and greetings from the ushers once you first come in the door, to the rest of the congregation is impeccable. The way everyone demonstrates their compassion through evangelism and worship that is Christ centered, and family oriented, says that this is a church that really cares about ones growth in Christ Jesus. The pastor, Reverend Frankie Grayton Sr., in my opinion, is one of the most approachable pastors that I have ever come in contact with. He's humble, he's a good listener, he always has the right solutions to any problems according to what the Bible says. He's constantly studying the word, he is very active in just about anything involving the church, his messages are impeccable, but somehow he always have time for a one on one with anyone in the church. In essence, Edgewood Baptist Church is a compassionate church that you must visit.

I'm from another city, but had been in the area for about ten plus years. I felt the pulling to return back to Christ so that my family would know righteousness in truth and fullness there in. I had only been invited to a few churches in the DMV. Everywhere I visited just didn't feel like home. It feels like home at Edgewood because there is something for everybody. The Pastor and 1st Lady are approachable, there are NO clicks and NO condemnation from others. But a kingdom discipleship where women, men and children can seek the keys to peace, life, God, cleansing, salvation, eternal life, power, freedom and yourself. Because the keys to these promises and mysteries is Jesus Christ!

"A Church With Compassion For All"... that pretty much sums it up for me. I visited Edgewood in January 2012 and my life has not been the same. I was drawn to a Pastor and people who are committed to lifting up the name of Jesus and being about the work of the Lord.

Edgewood has had a tremendous impact on my life. The family oriented atmosphere and God breathing word has allowed me to be liberated and enjoy life on a deeper level. If you are looking for a place to belong and grow closer to God, Edgewood may be for you!
